How to replace belt on hoover SH40060 SWEEPER

Remove the screws from the bottom of the power nozzle so you can remove the cover to gain access to the belt. Remove the brush roll, pull the end caps off the brush roll if possible to clean out hair and debris. Make sure brush roll will spin freely. Install new belt and reassemble.

How do I replace the belt for this model

Make sure vacuum is not plugged in to power outlet. Lay it upside down and remove 4 screws from bottom plate covering brush roll. Remove bottom plate and pull the brush roll out. Clean hair and debris from brush roll and make sure it spins freely. Remove end caps from brush roll if possible and clean debris out. Install new belt around motor shaft then insert brush roll into belt and pull on brush roll to give you enough leverage to stretch belt far enough to put. Brush roll back into position. Reinstall bottom plate and screws. Make sure brush roll will turn before turning vacuum back on. Belt will lose elasticity and should be replaced twice a year.

Brush won't spin on hoover wind tunnel bag less upright when on carpet, belts are fine

The belts may look fine but may be stretched and worn. Replace them. Make sure brush spins free. Idler pulley should tighten belt tension when handle is released

Why does drive belt on Hoover U6434 keeps slipping off. Even new ones.

Hi! If you have replaced the belt with a new one and your brush-roll is still not spinning, your brush-roll may need to be replaced. Remove the brushroll and clear it of hair and debris. Spin the end caps with your hand. They should spin easily with no tension. Inspect the area on the brushroll where the belt rests on for damages. To order a replacement brushroll click on this link. Search Results It could also be that the incorrect belt is being used with the vacuum. Make sure you are using genuine Hoover parts when replacing the belt. Check the motor shaft for residue from a previously burned belt. Also the brush roller may be defective.

Roller doesn't turn...no forward or backward...

Check the belt, if it's a belt driven brush roller. If not, check the bearings of the roller. You may need to replace the brush roller. Take it to a local shop and have it looked at.

Hoover Wind Tunnel

If this is new, you have a years warranty on it, take it for repair. Did you get the right belts, the numbers are 38528035 for the flat belt and 38528034 for the V belt. Also if you are catching something like a towel or area rug in the brush roll, it will knock of the belt. Is the brush roll turning freely. If not then it needs to be replaced, does it motor sound ok? If not then there is a problem with it.
