My monitor will not work with the originally installed dvi cable but works with svga cable only, The dvi cable was installed when new 2 years ago. I installed new dvi cable ...no luck. I installed a vga cable and it works fine. Could this be a bad video card? What should I do?

Try this if you haven't already, UNPLUG THE MONITOR FROM THE WALL.
LEAVE UNPLUGGED FOR 5mins and PLUG IT BACK IN AT THE WALL.
Alternatively try another dvi cable could be a dodgy cable.

Installing new Samsung BX2250 21.5 widescreen monitor, don't have the appropriate DVI outlet on my computer to match HDMI to DVI cable supplied with unit. Monitor is stuck on "Check Signal Cable...

Your monitor has Analog RGB, DVI and HDMI inputs. Any other hook ups will require additional cables and/or adaptors. It also has 2 additional audio inputs. I can't answer your question without knowing what kind of outputs you do have on you computer system. Most desktops have DVI out and would probably be your best bet using a DVI to HDMI adaptor with a HDMI cable out to your HDMI in on your monitor.Rgb cable would use svga out on your computer. The best way to get an answer would be to let me know the make and model of your computer system with avaiable outputs, if you know what the outputs are or, repost with additional info included.

I have an Aspire X3200, its been in the garage for a year and when I switched it on it starts and sounds like it all working but there is no signal going to the monitor, I know the monitor works because...

It could be the cable going from the computer to the monitor -- what type of connection is it using? It could also be the port on the motherboard where the cable connects. If the monitor accepts different cable types (such as SVGA or DVI) try a different connection and see if it works then.

How do I get my PC video signal to my TV. I s there a way with a wireless router and how will that be connected to my TV. Thank you.

Hi, you can use basic video cables to get your TV to act as a monitor. It depends on which ports your computer and TV have. You can use an S-video cable, a serial cable (with the blue connector that many monitors use), an HDMI cable, or a DVI cable. If both your computer and your TV both have any of these same ports, all you need is the cable and you can have your TV receive video signals from your computer.

Hope that helps!

When i start the computer and the monitor it says dvi no signal

How is the monitor hooked up? Are you using the SVGA plug (blue center with 15 pins) or the DVI (white with a lot of pins)?

Either way, if your monitor says there is no signal, then it means your computer is not putting out a video signal. Depending on you computer, this could mean 1)bad power supply 2)bad video card, 3)loose cable connection.
You'll need to check all three. Since the monitor does display a message, it is probably good.

Completley blank screen on boot up

you didnt mention the brand of the screen. this may be a input issiue if it has DVI and Svga and so on. check the menu to see if the monitor can be shifted to the other source. take the cable off and make sure no pins are loose or bent. then put cable back on. if you have another monitor try this cable on the other monitor and verify this cable is working. if it is may be the monitor. does the monitor work on different computer? if so check the back side of the computer, if desk top there may be another input for another VGA. some people overlook the port 2 where they can have dual screens. and only 1 is used for boot up info. try connecting to the other port if so. if the other port is DVI then hopefully you have a dual cord if not Ebay can get you a converter for 5-8 bucks. If you are luck enough to have a card with dual ports on the card generally only one port will work unitl you plug in the second monitor then reboot.

I have a 20 sceptre widescreen lcd monitor

Have you tried any other monitor connected to your computer since your current problem? Check your connections, make sure your VGA cable/DVI cable are in good condition. If none of that works try to RMA it to sceptre if your still within the 1 year period.

FORGOT HOW TO HOOK-UP MONITOR (PF790) TO MAC G4.

Have a look on the back of the monitor for the output socket.

If the socket is blue with 15 round holes then this is a SVGA socket, if it is white then it's a DVI socket. Though I believe that this monitor only had SVGA outputs.

Look for these same sockets on the G4, and connect the cable to the matching socket.

If you have one which is blue and one white you will need an adapter for the cable.

How do I hook up my

From a review on ComputerShopper.com:

"The ViewPanel VP181 supports both SVGA and DVI (digital video) ports and works with a wide variety of Macs and PCs."

You should be able to hook it up providing that you have a power cable and a video cable. Some come with one or both cables attached. If not, you may have to purchase one or both.

Most people have at least a SVGA connection that usually has a blue connector on the back of the computer that your monitor may already be hooked to. If the VP 181 monitor doesn't have a cable with that connector on the end, then you'll need to purchase one.
