Question about Kenmore Refrigerators
Could be the door switch, that is the most likely.
Other than that, use an electrical tester and test the socket itself. God bless your efforts.

there is a tab in the bottom of the light socket that can get bent so that it wont touch the base of the new bulb. unplug your refrig and use a small screw driver and bend the tab back out a little bit so that it will contact the new bulb...

SOURCE: The rear turn signal lights
You need to change the flasher unit. Usually a silver squat cylinder with a 3 prong connection.
Consult your owners manual for the location of the flasher module. It is likely under the dash maybe clipped the the body / frame work there. Note that here are usually 2 of these. one for the signals and one for the hazard flashers. They are interchangable. These are only a few dollars at any auto parts store.

Hello, welcome to FixYa.
Based on your post I understand you have a problem with a Frigidaire refrigerator, model: FRT17HB3J..., however if I could verify the later part of your post.
When you replaced the bulb did the light still not function ? Also before you reply I'd suggest you verify the fan in the freezer is operating as the only thing the fridge section depends on to remain cold (provided the unit is operating which obviously it is if the freezer is cold) is the fan in the freezer moving air to the lower cabinet/fridge section.
This unit doesn't even have a damper to fail to open, it's just straight blow through cold air. If you could let me know as much info the better I would then be better equipped to assist you without generalizing on what it may or may not be. I'll watch and look forward for your reply and we can go forward from here.
Thank you for visiting FixYa for your inquiry.

Most likely, you never notice the light bulb in your freezer or refrigerator until it is not working. Then it is time to replace the bulb. This is especially important with freezers, which are often in areas with poorer lighting, like basements or garages. Fortunately, the task is a simple one.
1 Unplug the freezer to prevent an accidental shock when you remove the light bulb.
Have a nice day! : ))
