Did you check speaker on / off selection in audio menu?
Did you try A / V input = yellow, red and white from cable box?
That hook-up is different than RF coaxial cable input to tuner....T.

No sound on tv

Do you have the old cable box? If so plug it in, or better yet, did the old cable box connect to the TV the same way the new one does. Did you just upgrade to HD?
Or if you have a DVD player or something to get a signal to the TV as a test, will eliminate the TV as the problem. It might even be an adjustment in the settings to allow audio to go down the HDMI cable. Some boxes its switchable.

Precision TV - PTV2548 no sound when your watching cable but there is sound forvideo input

may be the source itself(i.e. cable box) also check cables between cable box & TV. If you are connecting the DVD to the same input the cable box is installed, You know that input on the TV is OK. If you get no audio when the DVD is connected to the same input as cable box, then issue is the MAIN PCB.

When we use any of the dvr functions on our dish network dvr, the sound is gone. It doesn't happen every time but most of the time any pause, ff, rewind, or even stop cause the sound to be gone even when...

check all the cables for loose connections. if you have tried different cables using different inputs, I would say it could be your DVR box take the box to dish and have it replaced free

I HOOKED UP THE AUDIO CONNECTIONS FROM MY CABLE BOX TO THE BOSE RECEIVER. THE SOUND DOESN'T SOUND MUCH BETTER THAN MY TV SPEAKERS. WOULD USING A FIBER OPTIC CABLE MAKE MUCH DIFFERENCE?

You don't state how you have connected it but even with an analogue cable the sound should be better than your TV speakers, unless you have fantastic TV speakers, so something else is wrong however yes it should be better with as the full stereo surround signal is (if supported by your cable box) is transmitted digitally over the cable, so any analogue problems such as bad connections etc will be eliminated. I would not however buy a cable until you figure out whether there is a problem with your cable box or the Bose, do you have access to another source and connecting cable you could try first? Also go into the cable box menu and check if the sound out is correctly configured. Please rate my reply. Thanks

No surround sound on normal tv just dvds

Do you have a cable box or satellite box? If you do, try hooking up your TV sound through the box. Look for audio out in the back of box (white/red RCA Jacks). Hook RCA cable from cable box to surround amp. Even if the audio out jacks are being used already, you can use Y connectors to hook up the surround amp to the box.
Hope this works for you!

How can i get the surround sound to work.

You need to get an HDMI cable going from your Cable Box to the Surround Sound system. If you are low on HDMI ports, you can RGB cables for Video.

Your quote: " I have a HDMI cable plugged into the TV and the Cable box." move that cable to Surround Sound and Cable Box, and use RGB cable or HDMI to go from Cable box to TV!

If your Surround Sound has no HDMI, use a Fibre Optic to go Cable to Surround. It will work Great!

Good Luck!

Lost all sound

I had the same problem. Do you have a cable box for digital TV? do you have a remote from the cable company? that is programmed to control the TV? get the cable company to unlock the sound control from it (a 3 number code) put your sound up to maximum if you can if you hear faint sound repeat above you should be able to hear the tv then then go to the sound settings and adjust as needed get the cable company to check the box in cas it has been zapped by lighting good luck

WHen I hit the mute button again to bring up the volumn the sound remains muted. I have tried all other channels, direct cable and even a dvd player connected. No sound. I unplugged all the boxes and tv and then plugged in again in a attempt to reset what might be wrong. Still no sound. solution 1 while operation mute button has got demaged or pressed more. 2 sound section might have gone defective in tv 3 no supply to sound section 4 or speaker defective or ic got demaged.

Sound quality - Akai LCT2701TD

I don't have any problem with sound when I plug my cable wire directly into the TV's coaxial port. It sounds like there is a problem with the speakers or the sound board in the TV. I don't think the cable box would even help. If the TV is still under warranty, maybe you could borrow a cable box from someone else to see if it will work, and if it doesn't, contact Akai tech support again and demand repairs.
