It's the mode switch contactors for the high setting just overview the wiring of the high cool or high fan contactors if it's not there check all leads for the high fan or high cool circuitry.

Check for proper voltage on high speed at the switch, if it's ok then you have an open winding on high speed an you need to replace the motor to correct the problem, however you can continue to use medium and low speed without replacing the motor.

Fan will not run without starting it yourself and will not run high speed at all

Sounds like an old unit with a bad run capacitor or

check the components on the board for burnt wiring.

Fans on window units are controlled by a 3way switch. High, Med., and low. Your power and in most cases a capacitor which doubles for the compressor and fan.

So it can only be 1 of the 3
Burnt out windings on the motor
Bad switch
Bad capacitor

Hampton Bay Chateau Deville with remote stuck in high. Remote works fine for light with dimmer, but will not turn off fan or change speed. Stuck on high.

When you had the batteries out of the remote, did you press all the buttons to be sure one is not stuck? Also, this could be a button failure.

Intertherm a/c hardly blows on low fan setting

are you saying the outdoor unit does run, then shuts off?

if not, there may be fuses in the disconnect

if so, it may be going out on low pressure, possibly high pressure....clean all coils, filter, blower wheel, inspect coil if possible

Furnace transformer/fan-relay wiring to fan-motor

All you need is 2 fan speeds, 1 for cool and 1 for heat. Leave the low speed disconnected. Normally we have high speed for cooling, and med. or low for heat. So either speed connected to the heating circuit is fine.

I have a rooftop ac unit on my popup that was replaced two years ago. The unit works fine but I would like the fan to shut off when the compressor isn't running. Is there a switch for putting the fan...

Please describe your controls. Does it not have low fan, high fan, low cool, high cool on the dial at ceiling? If yes, low cool or high cool setting should shut it down when temperature is reached via thermostat dial.

Ac fan will not run on high setting , manual or auto . when unit calls for high setting fan shuts down . Compressor continues to run and trips breaker in trailer . Someone thinks it may be the motor, but...

Most probably its weak motor. When the motor gets weak it trips/ stops on high setting. On high setting motor needs more power to run the fan.Try lubricate the motor .You may need a few drops of oil on the fan motor bearings. As they get older they get dry and gunked up. If you can see the bearings a few drops of oil may help. --------- Because the fan operates on medium and high, so loose wire or faulty fan switch is very rare to cause this problem.-------- As per the problem , it requires motor to be replaced.--------- This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

The heat only works when its on high..when the fan is on.. when its on low or med there no heat blowing??

You have a bad resistor on the fan. High is the only speed that doesn't run through the resistor.

I hope this helps you.

My fan only runs on high. No low or medium speeds. The remote shows low, med and high changes but the fan only runs at high.

Check with another same type remote. If same problem, Check PCB. If all speed wires plugged properly? If yes, problem with PCB.Replace it.
Thanks, helpful?

Rear AC fan will not run in lo med or hi, switch or is there resistors on the fan that need checked?

When a blower motor does not turn on in low or med. and only turns on high its usally a resistor block. If nothing works it is most likely the bolwer motor itself or a fuse.
