Lights but does not heat up beyond 250degrees


If this is a propane grill, try replacing the regulator and hose going to the tank. When a regulator is failing, it allows gas to pass, but not enough to allow the grill to heat up properly. If this is an older grill. You can also check each burner for blocked gas ports. Just a few blocked ports in a burner can prevent the burner from lighting completely, or from moving from one side of the burner to the other.

How can i sear with my weber gas grill?


When you sear meat all you are doing is cooking the outside at high temperature so a caramelized crust forms. To do this on a gas grill turn all of your burners on high, close the top and let the grill get very hot, I usually shoot for around 400 to 450 degrees. When you put the meat on the grill do it fast, directly over the heat source and close the top to keep the heat up. You'll have to experiment but usually about a minute and a half to two minutes per side is all it takes. You want the meat to be thoroughly browned on the outside. Now turn the heat down or off on one side if your grill is set up for that, flip the meat and cook it slowly on the side of the grill that's turned off or over indirect heat to your desired done-ness. This will depend totally on the thickness of your meat, again experiment. Another important step is to let the meat stand for five to ten minutes after taking it off the grill. This keeps all the juices from running out of the meat the first time you cut into it and ending up on your plate.

Grill won't heat up above 200 DEGREES with a nearly full tank


Try replacing the regulator and hose, not very expensive and fairly easy to do. If that doesn't help, let me know.

My weber gas grill suddenly does not heat up enough. It has been working for two years and suddenly the amount of flame is tooooooo small to cook.


Hello. You may not have enough propane left in the tank for it to work properly, you may not have turned the tank valve to the full open position, or your valve safety device may have kicked in. IF this last item is what happened read on:
To reset the check valve and get back to cooking on your gas barbecue grill, first
  • turn everything off. Turn off the grill, the rotisserie, the side burner and the LP gas cylinder tank.
  • Once everything is turned off disconnect the propane tank from the gas grill regulator by unscrewing it or pulling the quick-release on older or retro-fitted propane cylinders.
  • Now turn the grill on. I know, it is dis-connected from the gas tank but we want to ensure that the pressure in the gas lines or any gas in the burners is released.
  • Leave the grill, side burner, rotisserie, etc on high for a few minutes with the hood open before turning all the valves back to the off position.
  • Make sure. Most gas barbeque grill valves must be pushed in to turn them and if turning is attempted without pushing the knob, they will not turn to the “on” position.
  • With the grill, et al turned off reconnect the propane tank and slowly turn the hand wheel to the open position.
  • Slowly. The trick here is to turn the hand wheel slowly.
When the propane gas tank is new or newly-filled, the gas is full and the OPD is pushing slightly on the top filled area and the gas will want to burst through the valve. Slow it down by turning the valve on slowly and the check valve will reset itself.

Rear Burner is hotter than the front burner on my Weber Grill


Since the grill is 15 years old, it is probably time to rebuild it. Replace both burners and anything else that is not working properly

How do I take my Weber Genesis grill apart to clean the burners? The burners are not heating up properly. The flame is very poor and not hot enough to cook food.


Turn on just one burner, once it is lit, turn on a second burner, if the flame gets lower or goes out, you probably need a new regulator.

turn tank off disconnect from grill make sure all knobs are turned off including side burner reconnect tank make sure fitting is all the way on tank turn tank on and try again

Grilling Chicken Problem???


It will grill Both sides at the same time or it is Broken!
Make sure that the Grill Plates are properly secured or the heat will not transfer to to the Grill Plate.

The part your looking for is going to cost you 19.00 + shipping . Total at around 30.bucks. It does not pay to fix this unit. Here is an article about these grills. Crucial product component is defined as a component that will prevent proper functioning of the entire product even though it is the only malfunctioning component. Analysis of the George Forman Grill found that there are three crucial components. The first crucial component of the product is the thermal switch. The thermal switch is a heat-regulating device that acts as a type of circuit breaker. When the grill is turned on, the temperature of the grill is room temperature and the thermal switch will allow electricity to flow through. Once the heating elements heat the grill up to a certain temperature, the switch is triggered and stops the flow of electricity, thus cooling the grilling surface. Once the temperature cools to a predetermined temperature, the thermal switch will no longer be triggered and will reopen the circuit and continue the heating process. The second and third crucial parts are the upper and lower heating elements. If one of these heating elements fails, only one part of the grill will heat and it will not allow for proper functioning of the grill, which is supposed to cook on both sides at time. Could and would the three critical components be replaced or repaired if malfunctioning is another important factor in determining the overall products serviceability. A product is made up of many components and the method used to connect all of these individual parts answers the question of could a part be replace. If a part is welded to another piece or if other components have to be broken in order to remove the malfunctioning component then that part cannot be replaced and the question of would it be replaced does not need to be address. If it is determined that a part physically could be replaced, the next question addressed is would it be replaced. The cost of the individual component verses the entire product cost, the time it takes to replace the component, and many other factors are addressed to determine if a product would be replaced. The overall cost of the George Forman Grill studied is under $60. To purchase an individual thermal switch to repair the grill with would not be a cost effective choice because they sell for approximately $15 to $20. To remove either heating element from the heating plate, the plate needs to be damaged. The heating elements will wear out but typically not until long after the thermal switch malfunctions. Considering both of these factors, the heating elements would not be replaced and if both were to fail, it would mark the product end of life. I have seen these grills/griddles for as low as 49.95
