Check and see if the gun needs oiled or is an oiless model. if it is NOT oiless, you probably just need to add about 4 drops of oil into the air input fitting

Where do I get staples for a B&D stapler? #9700

There are several brands of staples that will fit your stapler and the price will vary according to the depth of staple you are looking to buy. Arrow brand staples are the most common. All the ones I saw that fit the 9700 are Wide Crown Swingline Heavy Duty

Our staples won't go all the way through . We

You didn't list the make and model of your stapler but if it's not driving the staples flush with the surface here are some possible causes:
1. The wood; If you are driving long staples into hardwood or knotty lumber you may have to use shorter staples to see how they set.
2. Stapler settings; Turning the air pressure up isn't the answer to driving staples deeper, it is only harder on the stapler. Most staplers work in the 90 to 120 psi range. The lower pressure you use the longer your stapler will last. Check/adjust the depth of drive control on the stapler to determine where the top of the staple is driven to.
3. Broke stapler; If it's not driving them to the proper depth but the level they are driven to is consistant, you may have a damaged piston o-ring/seal or the end of the driver is broken off. You'll have to go into the gun or take it to a service center to check these things.

I have an ACE aircraft aluminum stapler... I bought Ace Heavy Duty Staples 3/8" 10mm Narrow Crown Arrow T50 staples but cannot get the arm to load with them on it.

Possibly you are trying to load it from the back with the arm out. This way does not work. With this stapler you must pull the arm out all the way and then drop the staplers in the bottom. Too easy, right? I felt like a dumb a$$ after fighting this one for an hour. By the way, it will take heavy duty staples but you need to match the item codes printed on the side of the stapler with the box at ACE hardware. Hope this helps... Say "yes" to "was this solution helpful?" so I can know that im not the only one who did this wrong :)

I need to put in new staples. How do I do it?

This stapler does not swing open like a paper stapler. It has a little square metal piece at its heel (about the size of a postage stamp). Press in lightly on this metal piece as you move it up or down just a bit, to unhook it. Then pull out the piston and spring assembly, insert staples in the hole and replace the piston. You must use T50 staples (of various lengths). T35 and others will not fit. Good luck, Al K

Cant get staples into it!!!

Sue, First, confirm that you have the right size staples. They are sized in two dimensions - width and length. The most common width sizes are T50 and T35. Your stapler and your pack of staples should have a number such as this. Your stapler will accept staples only of the correct width but of various lengths. The lengths are given in fractional inches - 3/8 inch and 1/2 inch are common.
But perhaps your problem is how to open the stapler. It does not swing open like a stapler you would use for papers. Instead, it has a sort of spring piston that has to be removed from the back-end of the stapler. If you lay the stapler down flat on the table so that the hinge of the handle is at the upper left corner, then what I am calling the back-end of the stapler is the lower right corner. Pick up the stapler so that you are looked directly at this back-end. There is a small metal square at this corner that is spring-loaded and is held in place by a little hook. Push in on this metal square as you move it up (or is it down?) to disengage the hook. Now the piston will pull out easily. Put your staples in the hole (they will only go in one way) and replace the piston. I hope you found this helpful Good luck!

Crown Stapler stopped shooting staples

Did you look for a staple jammed in the driver mechanism? If the piston is stuck down, it won't respond to the trigger. Try smacking the top of the stapler onto a wooden bench to see if the force will release the piston. Make sure that you use air-tool oil for lubrication inside the tool. Hope this gets you running!

Senco narrow crown Stapler Piston will not go back

There is a spring and piston in the back cap of the nailer, this must be free moving and not sticking. If it is sticking it will cause the problem you discribed. If that looks ok you probably should install an o-ring kit and that should solve the problem. A Senco service center will carry the proper parts.

Senco staple fastener not firing.

Make sure you actually removed the entire broken staple and there's not a piece still wedged up in there somehow.
Try raising the air pressure up to 125 psi and plug it in and unplug it a few times. Sometimes the piston can get jammed, and a smack with the palm of your hand on the side of the cylinder will jar it loose. If that doesn't work, try pulling the trigger as you jam the nose of the gun against a soft piece of 2x4 or something, repeatedly firing and jarring the tool. If this doesn't do it, you may have to open it up to clear the jam and put it back together.
