Question about Fisher and Paykel 23 in. DD-603SS Built-in Dishwasher

1 Answer

DD603 upper drawer pump rotor will not turn - F2 error. Was completely siezed. Removed rotor and got the shaft to turn with pliers. However it does not spin freely and still shows an F2 error. Does anyone have a repair manual so I can figure out how to remove the pump? Lower drawer had an F1 error (due to the upper leaking/F2 error) and this website helped me fix that problem.

Maybe you dont have to remove anything else.. try the rotor from the bottom drawer first. If this works just buy a new rotor..

Error Code - F2

Which LED - Delicate LED

Reasons - The motor has not been sensed rotating

Likely Causes

Hi I have a DD603 F & P dish drawer. I had an F2 fault, found the rotor motor seized. I've replaced that but F2 still comes up & the water doesn't drain away. Any ideas?

Before we talk about water not draining away, can you confirm if the wash arms rotate during the wash cycle. The rotor works as a wash pump and drain pump depending on which cycle it is in.

If F2 keeps coming then it is also likely there is some debris in the rotor cavity which is grinding on the rotor. But one needs to be sure if F2 is coming up only in drain cycle or is it already on during wash cycle.

We have the error F2 showing on our dish drawers

normally the F2 showing on both drawers is unusual.

It is a rotor fault. Which means either the rotor that drives the wash arm and also works as a pump is either faulty or there is some rubbish stuck in the rotor cavity.

Lift the fiter plate out and open the rotor ring. Get the rotor out and inspect. If it looks ok or there was no noise when the F2 error showed up then the hall sensor mounted on the underside of the drawer is faulty.

The hall sensor can be hard to replace unless one has good experience in repairing dishwasher.

There are no wires underneath the rotor - it is just suspended in the cavity. So you cannot do any damage except make scratches around that area. Maybe take a straightened wire coat hanger and insert from the side hole in the filter sump area. You might be able to push the rotor up to an extent and then grab it with pliers.

Dishdrawer model DD603 gives fault F2 (Motor). Unit has only been used a few times. What to do? Out of warranty.

Ok this is what you do you need to swap over the motor rotors from top drawer to bottom drawer. check for anything jammming the rotor etc when you take it out. if it works with the other drawers rotor then you need a new motor rotor. cheers

PLEASE GIVE ME FEEDBACK

F2 flashing on lower drawer

F2 means "motor not sensed to be rotating"
You said "very rarely used" also. The two go hand-in-hand in most cases. If you leave the drawer sit unused for months and months, this can ruin the motor rotor. The rotor comes out with no tools. Remove the dishrack, the wash arm (both simply lift off) and then the stainless steel filer/cover. This is removed by rotating the collar counter-clockwise and lifting it up. Now rotate the collar for the rotor counter-clockwise and lift the motor rotor out of the pump base. See if it spins freely. it;s probably frozen. You also can try swapping the rotor from the upper drawer into the bottom and see if that will work for you. if the rotor is bad, it is a part number 525884P and you can get them here:
