I had the same problem, take the water tank out, look on the bottom, is there a red seal on the tank? If not, its either lost (can get new one here http://www.4bissell.co.uk/cgi-bin/product.pl?PID=947370&query=7920%2de) or more likely its stuck in the bottom, if it is get a screwdriver and prise it out of the base and put it on the tank. All should be well. Regards Paul

I have a Bex Bissel Pro Heat Pro Tech and the brush keeps dragging on the carpet and makes a noise - Ive checked the belt but that seems ok.

Most of the time, it's the front "window" that plugs up. Usually you can remove the obstruction with a piece of wire, but if it is plugged further up, you'll have to remove the "window" and clean it out.

I have a Bissell ProHeat 2x advance carpet cleaner . It stop sucking up water. How can I fix it?

First check your filters. The Customer User Guide says to clean them after each use. There's two: The Water Tank Cap filter (looks like a screen) remove it, clean and reinstall, and the Flow Indicator: Turn the Flow Indicator Cap counter-clockwise and remove. Remove the rotor and under it is the filter. Remove, clean and reinstall in reverse order. If that didn't do it call Bissell Consumer Care at -1-800-237-7691 Hope that helps.

Not sucking up water out of carpet. Water tank filled, soap tank filled, red filter clean.

I don't know what the deal is with these but mine did the same thing had to have it serviced they didn't tell me what was wrong either. Check to make sure the connections aren't rusted underneath I think.

My Bissell carpet cleaner model #1697-W will not dispense the cleaning solution and will not **** the water back up--also need to know how you get to the belt on the machine?

The drive belt for the pump is located under a cover on the front right side as you look for the front of the machine. Just lift it up and the belt will be obvious. If it is not sucking then make sure that the dirty water tank is empty and that all the filters are clean and the front of the machine is not clogged with fibres, dirt or hair. Also check pre and post motor filters and clean them if required. Then check the mix control is working OK to allow fluid to flow out of the machine and not switched off. Bissell's are simple machines.

Not putting out water

I had the same problem with mine and it was an easy fix. If you remove the soap holder without putting the selector dial to "water only" you will lose the prime in the hose that goes to the water chamber. It takes a few minutes of pulling the water trigger to regain that prime, but it will come back eventually. Easiest fix, of course, is to always remember to dial to water only when you need to add cleaning solution..
