You might some dirt or debris stuck under that key. Try to use a compressed air bottle to clean out the keys.

It seems that you have Number Lock or "Num LK" on. You can turn it off by pressing the Num Lk ( Abbreviation varies) which should be on the top row of your keyboard.

Good Morning: I have an Acer Aspire 5920

Hello,

As by your description, the FN F7 key combo did not solve the problem. Please restart the machine , press F8 then select from the list "Safe mode" then press enter. Then see how the Touch pad reacts in Safe mode. If it works perfectly in safe mode, we can assume you have a software problem that is preventing it from working in normal windows mode.

Please download and install the latest BIOS for your machine. The E525 has a issue where the TP just stops working, upgrading the BIOS solves the issue on the E525...

Try to clean under the keyboard. It sounds like dust or other fine debris has accumulated under the keyboard. Use some compressed air to blow out the fine dust. This has worked many times for me.
