If you have a model with a circuit breaker(little red button on top of unit) push button and it should work. On models that do not have circuit breaker just turn Rainbow off and on to reset. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: powerhead on rainbow not working

If the motor is NOT running - press the red button on the nozzle (assuming you have the model with the button on the nozzle)
If it stops working as soon as you release the button - you need a new circuit breaker. If Motor in the nozzle works but brush does not spin - you have to replace the belt.

Good Luck

Will not vacumn blows dirt

Hi There I would suggest you have a blockage in your head. Turn it over and remove the base plate. I suspect you will have a build up of muck and junk there. Remove it all and check your Rainbow belt while your there.

Rainbow series E vacuum beater bar circuit won't reset.

The breaker is bad. It will need serviced by an authorized dealer. The E series powerhead is notorious for this issue.

Power brush will only operate on push stroke

If the motor runs, the circuit breaker is working. If it only works on the push stroke, you probably have burnt contacts where the handle and/or wands and/or power head connect. When you push, the contacts are pressed together; when you pull, they are separated and the motor loses power. The only solution is to replace the connector parts.

Power nozzle don't work

I don't know which model you have or how old it is, but most models have a cord on the hose that plugs into a receptacle on the main machine. Sometimes they can look like they're plugged in when in fact they're just barely hanging there. You could also check the cord at the powerhead. Because the cord flexes with the motion of vacuuming, the cords can break inside. Wiggle the cord while the machine is running and if the cord is defective, the powerhead is start and stop. On some models, there is a switch on the hose handle to turn the nozzle off and on, and these are prone to failure. Also, there should be a reset on the top right hand side of the nozzle, but if this kicked out, it indicates a motor or electrical problem and should be addressed by a service person. If your powerhead has this reset, it's possible that the reset is sticking. Push it down a couple of times and see if that helps.
