Question about Speed SV800 DV Digital Camcorder
. unable to play video. Sounds ok but no picture. Same on all video players. thanks
This is a codec issue on your computer. Please install the following depending on which edition of Windows your computer is running:
Now try playing the video. If it doesn't play, right-click on the video file, choose Open with...
Open it with Windows Media Player. Does it play in Windows Media Player? If not, please download QuickTime Alternative here, install it, and try playing it in Windows Media Player again, does it play?
If still not, finally, download VLC Player here, install, and attempt playing the video with VLC Player.
Please try the above all in order until you get to a point where it does work.
Best of luck! Let me know if you need further help.

If the Video Plays on LCD display, then try resetting the camera to factory settings by removing and putting back the battery.
The recorder will use PAL or NTSC, depending on your region, ensure that the camcorder setting is the same as the recorder.
Also ensure that camera is set to playback not to record when connecting to recorder.
If still no luck and video plays on LCD display, or on different camera, then the connectors on camera may be defective.
If instead video does not even play on camcorder, then the unit is faulty, and it can be a faulty CCD sensor, lens problem or control board/connectors problem.
In that case the camcorder will need repair service.
