GIMP not working with graphic tablets(s)

GIMP refuses to acknowledge my graphic tablet. Was willing to accept it on my PC but it doesn't register the pen on my tablet PC.

I can't configure extended input settings because it tells me there aren't any. Pen tablet doesn't come up under current input devices.

Using version 2.6.6, only downloaded because people say it's better than photoshop. Between this and crashing multiple times at startup I'm inclined to disagree.

Are you pressing down firmly enough? If not, sounds like the digitizer may have a problem... The digitizer is the layer in front of the lcd, it's job is to pick up the signal from your pen and send it to the motherboard. The motherboard should have two connections to the screen, one to the lcd itself and another to the digitizer. If you remove the screws on the bottom of the tablet you can take off the keyboard and see if both are connected right.

I can't register it as it refuses to accept my Amazon password as correct.
Passwords are case sensitive, make sure you are typing it in correct!

My Genius Easypen i405x cannot detect and sense pen pressure
I had the same problem. I have been using Win7. The solution is very simple: Uninstall your genius driver, restart your computer. Plug in the tablet, now the Windows should detect your tablet, wait a minute while the new drivers is installed. And from now it should work. Sorry for my English.

Wacom Bamboo problems
try checking the usb cable. change it for a new one. i'm using a motorola cell-phone usb connection cable an it's working fine with my bamboo tablet. also, try to upgrade your drivers and change your usb port.

Cursor restricted to top left area using graphics tablet
It's the windows 7 tablet feature that causes the problem. To solve it you have to disable it. Go to start -> search write "services.msc" (without the strokes) and hit enter. Now search for "Tablet PC Input Service" double click on it and when a little window pops up set Disabled under startup type list box. Now if you want to see effect immediately there is a button Stop, click on it, and wait until service is stopped. When done close both windows. This way you don't have to even restart your pc.

When I go into certian programs like inkscape or the newer Gimp my wacom pen wont draw,but it will select items. yet if I use an older gimp 2.0 it works fine I have the intuos 3 ptz -431w actually it did...
I didn't solve it myself (a lady named Linda deserves the credit) ... but the solution at the following URL worked for me when I encountered the same problem with inkscape0.47 and intuos 4 wacom tablet pen:

Pen will only draw in photoshop
I am giving you a link below that will tell you all you need to know about Wacom and Linux (gimp). There you can download the driver you need in order for your Intuos3 to work with GIMP. Let me know if this helps.

Pen no longer pressure senstive in painter
Go to Start>Programs>Wacom>Wacom Properties and in there you should be able to "Add" Painter X to the programs recognised by the tablet app.

GIMP will not open up I have used GIMP for about 1 and a half weeks now and it has been working just fine. We were just assigned a project where we used the filters. It kept crashing and I have had to restart it multiple times. I kept saying "(Not Responding)" and would fade a little bit and then would force exit. The last time I tried to open it, it started loading about 2/3 of the way, when it came to loading the fonts and then it stopped and came up with something saying "A problem has caused this program stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. This happens every time I try to open a xcf file or GIMP. I have restrted my computer multiple times and I uninstalled it and reinstalled it, but the same problem is still happening. I don't know how to fix it and I need to submit the project. If someone could help that would be great!
