Question about DEI Python 1400XP Remote Start/Keyless Entry System

Open Question

I have a toyota camry station wagon 1995 with I believe to be a your valet alarm. I have a new remote for it because the original one broke. This remote won't work the the alarm or the keyless entry to my car. How can I program the remote? Unfortunately this was a used car when I bought it and didn't come with any instructions for the alarm. The new remote has 68 billion rolling codes, FCC# EZDEI491. It has 2 gray buttons and it flashes red.

SOURCE: car starter not working

look under the dash for a small silver toggle switch....this is a disable switch for the remote start portion of the system..you may have kicked it / bumped it with your foot, causing the remote start portion to be deactivated. Just flip the switch the opposite way and try again..
Also, there may have been a pin style switch installed under the hood...Check to see if it is bent or broken, if it is, simply disconnect it and insulate the wire that was going to it.
This wire is used as a safety to keep the vehicle from remote starting while the hood is up..to keep people from being injured if the remote start is activated while the engine is being worked on.
Have whatever shop installed the system replace your pinswitch if that is the problem.

Two suggestions one even if its a new battery change it ,secondly if your new car has metalised window tinting on it and your old car did;nt this can be the reason also ,if so move the antenna to the front screen which won;t have tinting.

SOURCE: I have what i believe

There is a green and blue wire on a white colored harness. You will need to verify that these wires are connected to the lock and unlock wires in the vehicle. This green and blue wires are on a 3 pin harness plugged into the alarm.

You have to turn off your ignition and immediately press that 'eraser like button'(valet switch) for a second and release it. Alarm will then come out of valet mode and your remote should work, if it's good.

turn the key to ON, then press and release the valet/program button once, then press and hold. The 561R LED will begin to blink. While you're holding down that button, press and release lock on the remote. Turn ignition off and try it out.

I have a prestige remote Audio box starter remote alarm on a 2002 Toyota Camry.I unplugged the sensor and the car still doesn't start.can you help me i am out of the state need to get home.

Locate the valet switch( black push button), turn ignition on, press and release valet switch. the valet switch is plugged onto the main control unit. You can find the main control unit by tracing the harness that you unplugged from the shock sensor. The valet switch is plugged into a two pin plug and has a blue end. Trace the wire to the valet switch.

I had to change the battery. After replacing the new battery all systems work, but the car won't turn over and the factory alarm is blaring. How do I disable the factory alarm? I do not have the...

Hi,
If you have the Toyota factory alarm, there should be button under the driver's side dash to reset the alarm....Look for it 1st, then read below.

Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking, to the ON position.

Then within 5 seconds, locate, press and hold in the
valet/overide button, found under the
dash area, (push button, spring loaded)
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area goes on solid,
and the siren chirps once.

(Your valet switch might be the toggle
(on/off) type. in this case, key on,
flip switch in opposite direction,
then turn the key off.)

This should reset the alarm, and reset
the grounded relay on the starter wire,
allowing you to start the engine.

At this point, the only thing working would
be the keyless entry from the alarm,
if it came equipped that way.

Just Repeat these steps to place it
back to usable armed mode.
You may get 2 chirps, confirming it,
and the lights may flash twice as well.

GL,
Td

Without knowing what is wrong. Have the guy pay to fix it. that way, no matter what it costs, its not your problem. $3000 is way to much for that old car, find something better.
