Question about Boating
I have an 1975 850 Mercury. It idles fine, but when I put it in gear it bogs down... I need to clean the carb, how do I get to it?
Lol...I have a 1965 650 and have done the carbs on it. You need to loosen the bracket in the front and get it out of the way the best you can. Use a 90 degree open end 7/16" wrench. On mine I think that I had to take the starter out also. Then once I could loosen the nuts on the carbs I had to twist, turn, and cuss alot until they came out. it is not a difficult job...just very frusterating.
