I'm having the same problem with my daughter's PSP. It's not an issue with the battery or charger. It no longer turns on - she's only had it for a year and of course is heart broken. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

You might need to check the contacts internally cause sometimes it happens that it loosens up internally. But before that have you bricked the psp cause that might have effected it.

If you wanna have a look how to open the psp have a look here

I presume that this PSP is a new one and so would request that you take the unit for warranty service than to tamper. All what could be done is to reset the unit and if this wont work contact SONY service for the support/warranty.

Hello fellow gamer :)

It sounds like your PSP may be damaged or the battery is not taking a full charge. If possible, can you try using an alternate battery? If this does not work, you may want to contact Sony for technical assistance.

I have seen PSP updates brick a PSP before and it has to be reset or fixed by Sony.

If it is under warranty I recommend calling them.

Try replacing your battery with a new (or a working one) one just to see if it's the culprit. OR try another charger.
Remember that tinkering or trying to hack your PSP, especially its firmware might brick your PSP.

Have you tried removing the battery and run the PSP off the mains? If it works then, the battery may be faulty. You can get a new battery from most major retailers of games.

Psp wont charge, no usb. battery empty after last game.

believe it or not, if the psp works you can play it with out a battery using thee charger. Try that and see if it works at all. If it does then you may need to replace your battery, or leav it and let it charge for about 5-6 hours.

If it's 4 months old and it does not work at all you should still be under your manufacturer's warranty.

It might be a problem with your battery pack, you can even switch on your psp without battery pack, with the charger plugged in acutally. So a replacement battery will be a good choice for you.
