Toshiba vcr dvd recorder combo won't record to dvd

Hi,
I have a Toshiba D-VR600KU VCR & DVD recorder combo that I purchased to convert VHS tapes to DVD.
I started with our mini tapes from our 1980's smaller camcorder.
I placed the mini tapes into the cassette adapter and have had no problems converting them to DVD.

Now that I am inserting the regular size VHS tapes, it records for about 10 seconds then stops and gives me this message, ''TV System of the input video has been changed.'' Also, on the DVD side, a message that says, ''TAPE TAV_SW Status Fail.''
Please help me.
Thanks, Marlene Ezell

SOURCE: Connect DVD recorder to Video player/recorder- transfer VHStodisc

hook the video output from vcr to dvd input at rear, then hook output from dvd to tv input. note; you can not record protected vcr movies you can only record tv shows from sattelite to vcr or dvd recorder. its best to record straight from sattelite to dvd recorder for picture clarity.

SOURCE: How do I record my vhs tapes to Disk

I have done a lot of dubbing on my machine. First make sure the DVD is formatted. When you put in a new disc it should ask you if you want to initialize. Once that is done, switch to VCR mode. push play on the VCR then push the DUB button on the front of the machine. I hope it helps.

SOURCE: VCR DVD Recorder not dubbing

I called the manufacturer and realized I was using the wrong type of recordable DVD disc to dub to. Non copy protected VHS tapes dub just fine as long as I'm using the proper disc.

Want to copy vhs to dvd.

I convert VHS to DVD using a Toshiba DVD Recorder that I purchased from Costco a few years back. I plug the VCR into the DVD recorder using RCA jacks, press PLAY on the VCR and REC on the DVD recorder and let it sit and record. I can record up to 8 hours of video onto one DVD at low quality. After this, I finalize the DVD so it can be read on other DVD players.

I have a Toshiba DVD/VCR combo and I want to know if i can record a VHS onto a blank DVD disc ?

It all depends on the model of DVD/VCR Combo and what VHS you want to copy.

Pre Recorded VHS are copyright protected so the system won't let you copy them.

Since change over to digital dvd/vcr Toshiba SD-37VB does not record on Video tapes. What do I need to do to correct this or do I need to purchase some additional unit?

Subcribe to cable or satellite tv services.Ur dvd/vcr unit will able to be used to record on VHS tapes again.Because cable or satellite tv services the tv incomming broadcasting tv signal still do broadcasting comming in as analog tv signal for the analog devices as analog devices require as it needed.

Have a toshiba tp 61H95 proj TV- want to connect panasonic dvd recorder and toshiba vhs recorder so I can copy family videos to dvd- can't get hook ups set up for both to work.

Select AV-1 or some thing in TV and plug DVD recorder Video-Audio output in AV-1 input of TV, playback any DVD and confirm its picture and sound in TV. Press Stop button of DVD recorder to stop playback.
Now plug Video-Audio output of VCR in DVD recorder input and select AV Input in DVD recorder, insert VHS tape in VCR and playback it and confirm you get VHS picture and sound in TV via DVD recorder.
Hookup between TV, DVD recorder and VCR is completed.
Playback VHS tape in VCR, Insert blank DVD disc in DVD recorder and press Record while you see VHS tape picture in TV.
Hope this info will help you.

Can you record a dvd from vhs on this system ?

No you cannot - This is a DVD *PLAYER* / VCR combo - which means it features a DVD player & VHS recorder in one - you cannot record onto DVD - You can however watch a DVD while recording your tv program on the VCR.

I hope this answers your question.

If you want to convert your VHS to DVD you will need to purchase a standalone DVD recorder - I personally do not reocmmend the DVD recorder / VCR combos - or you can use a HDD/DVD recorder which stores recordings on a hard drive and later you can burn them on DVD, they allow editing, more flexible recording options, etc

Universal Remote code for VCR/DVD recorder.

Use the remote's "Code search" feature. It'll run through every code in it's database and when you see the player turn off, you store the code. If non of the codes work, then it's not compatible.

Hope that fixed ya...
