Question about Toshiba Satellite A60 Notebook

Toshiba Laptop wont power on

I took my friends laptop home so i could reset his startup password. After that, It started asking for a User HDD1 Password. While This toshiba was pluged in, powered on and at the password screen, I moved it a bit, and It turned off. The led lights also were off. After doing the 20 second power button trick, I pluged in the battery and Ac jack. Both lights lit up. When I hit the power button, the screen flickered and both LED lights (Battery and Ac Jack) Turned off.
Agian, 20 second power button trick, With just the a/c jack in. Same results, a flicker and the led lite turning off.
Power button trick, pluged the battery in, The led light for the battery was on. Hit the power button, same results. Flicker than no power. When its just the battery pluged in, It will flicker every time you hit the power button.
There is No power, No fans running, no signs of this laptop even wanting to start up.
If anyone has any soulutions, That would be great.

Toshiba Notebook PC's in the A105 series, and A135 series, suffered a lot of issues with asking for a HarDDrive password.

A Processor is an I.C.
Ram Memory uses I.C.'s on the sides. They are DRAM chips.

When you power on your computer the first chipset to receive power is the BIOS chipset.
BIOS looks to see what devices are installed, does a Ram Memory count, turns the Processor on, and hands the computer over to the Operating System.
{Simple explanation}

WinXP, and Win 7 are two examples of an O/S.

BIOS gave the harddrive in your laptop the moniker of HDD1.
If there was another harddrive installed also, it would be HDD2.
(HDD 1, HDD 2 ]

Reloading the O/S may, or May Not stop the request for the HDD1 password.
Most of the time? No.

Removing the CMOS battery (RTC Battery) will Not fix this issue.

It's a glitch in the BIOS program.

{ NOTE*
When you go to perform a BIOS update, make SURE the power will not go out.
If the power goes out during upgrading, you will wind up with an expensive doorstop, or an ornament for a table.

A battery backup device of some sort is recommended }

No startup,,,asking FOR HDD1/SSD1 USER PASSWORDS ?????

If you aren't the one that has activated the security system in the hdd then the electronics board of the disk is dying and nothing can fix that the disk is effectively dead and all the data on it is lost. You will have to replace the hdd and reinstall Windows using the recovery cd that came with the laptop when you bought it.

HDD1 pasword

This is a feature in newer laptops, to protect the files on a "stolen" laptop from being accessed by the thief.

If you have set a password, enter the password.

If you have not set a password, did one of your friends/family set a password?

If no password has been set, turn the computer off.
Disconnect the AC power.
Remove the battery.
Reinsert the battery.
Restart the computer, and see if it still asks for the password.

Can I reset the HDD1 user password on Toshiba satellite?

If the password was set on the hard disk from the laptop that it was install on, then you can reset or remove the hard drive password using the BIOS configuration, you need to enter the existing hard drive password to this.
There are no back door paswords available, if you ca't remove the password then the drive is useless. This protection is use to prevent unauthorized access to data stored on the hard drive.

To get the laptop operational again you need to replace the hard drive and install Windows again.
