Have you moved the slide switch on the side of the card? If so and it still says locked on your camera, temporarily put a piece of tape over the switch, download your pictures from the card, then consider getting a new card since the switch may be broken.

Camera is stating "card locked" and can't take a

Take the memory card out of your camera and look at it. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

Can I use a 4GB SDHC memory card with Vivitar 5385 camera

No. The 5385 works with SD cards, not with SDHC cards. You're limited to cards 2GB and smaller.

How do you unlock the camera?

It is not the camera it self you need to unlock but it is the SD memory card.To unlock a SD memory card switch off the camera and remove the card. You will find a slide switch on the side of the card that needs to be slid to unlock the card..

I have tried two memory cards on the Vivicam 5385 and both say card error, is this a usual fault or am i doing somthing wrong?

The camera wants you to format the cards in the camera. This will erase them so download any pictures from them first.

Downloaded disk but camera still says disk locked

Having gone nearly two years without a response to my query, I assume my suggestion about the slide switch on the card solved the problem.

Would like more picture capability . . .

Hi,

Your Vivitar Vivicam 5385 accepts SD Card cards. The largest SD Card card you can use in your Vivitar Vivicam 5385 is 2GB.

This link will take you to an online store, the Panasonic 2GB SD card is £5.99 Delivered.

http://www.mymemory.co.uk/SD-Cards/Panasonic/Panasonic-2GB-SD-Card-%28Secure-Digital%29

Simply insert this into the slot on your camera and you should be good for well over 800 to 1000 pics.

Best wishes and hope this reply helps.

Mike.

Urgent please

There are 2 probable solutions. 1. The images are "protected" by the camera & will show "locked" when you try to erase them. 2. The SD card in the camera is locked. The solution to 1 is to unlock the images in the playback menu. See page 45 of the manual. Solution 2 is to remove the card from the camera & check the "lock" slider that you can see on the side (although no all cards have this). Set the lock off. You can download the manual from the first link on the following page: http://www.retrevo.com/s/Vivitar-4345-Digital-Cameras-review-manual/id/200bh831/t/1-2/
