check your wiring connections, sounds like you may have intermittent connection somewhere, and this is the most likely culprit. be certain that all connections are solid. multi pin plugs are notorious for having one bad pin.

Change main fuse but still not working right

First of all, nothing wrong with the fuse. A fuse is nothing but a short piece of wire with a resistance value. If the unit turns on, fuse is fine. The fact that the headphones you plugged in are working tells you that the music is finding it's way up to that point. You must realize that the speakers themselves have additional circuitry that the headphones don't use. If you could obtain a diagram for the circuitry you might find that a capacitor or a diode or a transistor got "zapped" when the high voltage was applied.
If you have this diagram and you don't know what component is defective, can you post that diagram and I would be glad to help!

Control Pod for Companion 5 volume control non-functional

I had exact same problem today. I moved my speakers from one room to the next. When I plugged everything back, the mute/unmute worked but the volume control no longer worked.

I got it working now!! I powered down my computer and then unplugged the power to the speaker system. Then plugged in the power to the speaker system again. Powered on computer and all is good again!!

Hope this helps/

Control Pod for Bose Companion 5 speaker system

I had the same problem right out of the gate, the volume dial on my control pod for my Companion 5 wasn't working, however, the touch pad and LED worked. I called Bose customer service and was instructed to:

First, unplug the power directly at the back of the woofer while the unit was on;

Next, I was instructed to unplug the control pod, visually inspect for any damage/defect;

Finally, re-seat the control pod on the back of the woofer and then lastly plug the power cable back into the woofer.

It worked like a charm. I hope this is helpful!

Companion 3 problem

It is not the pod that isn't working, a 220v power supply would overload the circuitry in the subwoofer. And since the damage is done, a step down converter would be no help at this point. I would take it to a electronic repair shop and have them take a look at it.

I have a similar issue too, but my problem is that the sub has green light, and my control pod has an 'off' light, but it won't turn on :(
