Doesnt respond to the power button

Two things, it could be a bad power button or the battery is not providing enough power that causes the phone not to respond immediately.

Try to power cycle the phone by removing the battery for 5 minutes then put it back on. Check if the phone would respond properly.

If not, check the power switch and see if there's something blocking the switch or it might need repair.
