I had a handset with Telstra replaced because it was broken. The handset that they replaced it with doesn't work.

Telsra want me to send the new phone away to get it fixed. It was supposed to be a new phone. I want a new phone & Telsra refuse to give me one... What should I do....?

Change the service provider to optus of others who give you service
of course you could always take the phone into a Telstra shop and talk with them

SOURCE: adding new expansion handset

You will need to register it to your base station before it will work. You do so by holding down the registration/page key on the bottom of your base for a couple of seconds, and then grab your SL30 and push Menu, scroll down to the option of Handset settings, press OK, then scroll to "registration" and push OK, select base station 1, press OK, then enter the default pin of 0000 and press ok. Repeat these steps if first not successful. You can download a manual for free on our website at www.cordlessrepair.com

SOURCE: broken handset

The weakness with the handsets was that women using hand lotion or hair gel can get it on the front of the keypad. It then works it's way to the back side of the rubber keypad. The oil gets on the powder carbon on the keypad. The Carbon shorts the copper on the phone to activate the #1 or #2, etc. When the oil mixes with the carbon the key no longer works. I replaced many keypads until Sony Supplies ran out.... A cheap home fix would be to open the handset and clean the #1 key and the circuit board. You can try the keys but if they don't have any carbon on them you can buy liquid carbon at Electronic Stores OR just paper punch a circle of alumimum foil. Glue the foil on the key with thin glue. Works....

Telstra cordless 301 message light flashes on handset 1 which is on the base, but the 2nd handset message light does not flash even if it is on the cradle. I have unplugged both phones several times to no...

If the message light on the Telstra cordless handset 1 is flashing, indicating a new message, but the message light on handset 2 does not flash even when it's on the cradle, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
  1. Check message notification settings: Make sure that the message notification settings on both handsets are properly configured. Refer to the user manual or the settings menu on the handsets to adjust the message notification settings. Ensure that the notification is enabled for both handsets.
  2. Reset the handsets: Try resetting both handsets to their default settings. This can be done by removing the batteries from the handsets, unplugging the base station, and leaving them disconnected for a few minutes. Then, reinsert the batteries and plug in the base station. Allow the handsets to reconnect to the base and check if the message light on both handsets functions properly.
  3. Check the base station: Ensure that the base station is functioning correctly. Check if the base station is properly connected to the telephone line and power source. If possible, try connecting handset 2 to the base station that handset 1 is connected to and see if the message light functions on that base station. This will help determine if the issue is with the base station or the handset itself.
  4. Contact Telstra support: If the issue persists after trying the above steps, it may be best to contact Telstra support directly for further assistance. They will have specific knowledge of their product and can provide more detailed troubleshooting steps or advise on any potential repairs or replacements that may be necessary.
Remember to refer to the user manual for your specific Telstra cordless model for more detailed instructions on troubleshooting and operating the handset.

My telstra 8100 cordless phone keeps showing the word searchingnow i cant do anything with the phone.hope someone can help. Cheers

Place the telstra 8100 handset in the charger. Call any number while the handset is in the charger and it should dial out - you can hear the dial tone now. Take the handset out of the charger and you should be able to call normally.

Need to switch version to Telstra

Hi there, I can see why you would want to keep that phone, sharp looking phone.. well looking at the Telsra web site I found this
Question: Will my mobile work with Telstra's Next G™ Network?
Answer: Please check your mobile's user guide or manufacturer's website. Look in the "tech specs" for your mobile, and see if 3G support at 850mhz is listed. This means your mobile is compatible with Next G™.
If your mobile is compatible with Next G™, we can send you a new SIM card once you have signed up to a Next G™ mobile plan, so you can begin using the additional services available on Next G™.
If you're still unsure if

I found the phones specs
Network vx9900 env verizon
Technology CDMA Frequencies/Bands 850, 1900 Data It does not look like that phone will work with the Telstra service. To make sure you should contact Telstra ask for a tech. (any one else just may try selling you another phone) Ask for tech...Don't call from your cell they may have you take bat. off to read #'s on back of phone.

Motorola razr v3 app.2005

It depends on which carrier the prepaid was with.
if The original prepaid and your wifes plan are both with the same carrier then it should be no problem just swap the sim over.
eg ( telstra to telstra ) or Optus To optus.
If the v3 is an Optus predaid and your wifes sim is a telsra plan then it wont accept the sim as the carriers lock the prepaid phones to their network
