Do you print CD or plain paper, red light is mean jamed paper or change cartridge. Open the top door >press drop ink symbol> look at printer head show on ink ink tray.

That is an indication of regular functionality from device. Red on device is indication of power on cables ready to capture prints. Usually with devices that has several lightening indication displays, a yellow would be ready to produce print request where finally green is indication that print asignment has been attained succesfully. once a new ink was installed, attempt to print documents to ascertain the status to devcies.

My colored ink needs to be replaced, however, I still have black ink, why will the printer not let me print in black and white, there is no grayscale.I can't print at all unless I replace the colored ink.

The issue is the printhead needs constant flow, I have seen bypasses but this damages the print head and all kinda of mess happends. The solutions here is a grey scale laserjet if your only use black ink. Your would be alot better off because this printer mix inks to make black and vice versa, So you need to fork out the bucks for the color cartridge or change the solution to toner if you do not use color. Yes there is a bypass but we are not aloud to provide that because it will dmage you unit and we cannot be liable for that Google is your friend!

Thanks and please do be considerate and leave postive ratings and feedback for your free answer today.

My mfc-240c won't print red, even with a new cartdrige.

Try running a few cleanings on the color.

Press the ink button and select cleaning,, do about five cleanings. Print the ink quality test page (from the ink button as well) and see the quality if it improved.

If it still doesnt print its possible the ink is clogged and may need servicing to replace the printer head

first disconnect the printer from the computer

then powercycle the unit and observe if it is recognizing the inks

if u get the red ink lights on, try re-seating the inks

if that doesnt work, contact manufacturer regarding the inks

It will not print.

Hi Greenhorn, Your info is slightly conflicting - I think. As I remember the C60 has just 2 LED's: 1 - Green for Power 2 - Red for Error The third button - Cartridge exchange - has no LED Now it is a while since I looked at a C60 and my brain leaks like a sieve, but that's the way I remember it and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. The error codes I remember are: Printer status - Indicators - Priority Power - Error Power ON condition On - Ink sequence Blink - Ink Cartridge change mode Blink - Data processing Blink - Paper Out *1 - On Paper jam condition *1 - On Ink end (Black) *1 - On -> Blink Ink level low (Black) - Blink-> Blink Ink end (Color) *1 - On -> Blink2 Ink level low (Color) - Blink-> Blink2 Ink end (Black and Color) - On -> On No Ink Cartridge (Black or Color) *1 - On Maintenance request (Ink Overflow Countererror) *1 Alt Blink Alt Blink Fatal error *1 Off On Special setting Blink2 Blink2
