It takes too long for the t.v. to come on.

When i go to turn on the power, the light on the front panel just flashes for about 1-2min.,before it comes on and stays on. then the t.v. finally comes on all the way.

If it takes a long time to start up, with front panel flashing, this is often because one of the ballast board(BP47-00037A) that supply power to the lamp that generate the raster is faulty. Sometimes a faulty Power Supply Unit can also cause similar problem.
Lamp PWB must be tested.

Here a a picture of the lamp ballast:

It is also worth having a look at PSU capacitors and STK ICs on convergence board.

Hello Gizzy,

Please make sure that the power plug is tightly fitted to the wall outlet. Sometimes this is cause by loose connections. So you might also want to check on that.

Or you can also try doing a master reset of the TV by unplugging the power and hold on/off button for 30 seconds.

TV will not turn on. There are two lights in front at the bottom of the screen - One is the power light, one is the OPC light. When the power cord is plugged in, both lights flash twice, then the OPC light...

Sounds like your screen is broken or has been impacted. Force the television on by doing this: Unplug it and on the side of the television where the panel buttons are hold down the ch- and vol+ buttons. Then plug in the television while still holding them down. The television should come on and you see the cracks. Unfortunately it can't be repaired.

If it isn't ch- and vol + then try ch + and vol -.

My sharp tv (model lc52sb57u) has the green power light flashing in the front. i can't turn it on, nor can i do the firmware update via http://www.sharpusa.com.

Hello,

The reason the television has its green light flashing is a sign that there is a power problem with the television.

Most likely, it is the power panel or a capacitor on it that is faulty.

Have it checked and corrected and your television will be okay once again.

Take care

When i turn on the tv, it takes maybe a minute or two to turn it on.. red light flashes as it try to turn on what is wrong with the TV

Hello,

The reason your television takes a while to come on and have a red light flashing before it comes on is because it is about to develop a problem and it is most likely a power problem.

If your television does not get properly shut down and power goes off on it without the proper procedures, it would start to flash the red light which is to sound a warning that your television would become faulty within a short period of time.

So ensure you go through the normal procedure in turning off your television.

Take care

Takes to long for unit to come on, when pressing power on remote, green light comes on, but it takes over an hour for the picture to come on.

could be a lamp problem, turn the set off, watch the front led light next to LAMP, count how many flashes in sequence, eg. 2 flashes indicate lamp problem, 3 flashes internal overheat problem. if a orange light flashes next to POWER indicator you have a power malfunction.

Printer reset re Brother HL 1230

Resetting the printer should clear the flashing leds (flashing lights.)

How to Perform A Factory Reset:
1. Turn the printer off.

2. Hold in the circular button on the front panel of the printer.

3. Turn the printer back on.

4. When the DRUM light is lit by itself let go of the button. Hold in
the circular button on the front panel again. Once the Alarm light comes
on, let go of the button. This has performed a factory reset on the printer.

If the alarm continues, the printer may need service.

Can not reset tv

These sets have a common problem with the front panel buttons sticking and not allowing the set to turn on. Unplugging the control panel and using the remote to turn the set on normally diagnoses that problem (If you try this, remember that once the set is origionally plugged in, it takes about a minute and half before the set can be turned back on. Another problem could be in the convergence circuit. If you hit the power button and the indicator light comes on and shuts off then that is the circuit that is most suspect. The -24 volt line fusible link as well as the 24 volt line will open up if the convergence IC shorts out. There is a way to diagnose this set by pushing in and holding the menu and device button on the set at the same time until the indicator light starts flashing. There are two sets of flashes, such as, 2 flashes and then 3 flashes. Hope this helps.
