Refrigerator leaking water

You gave no manufacturer name or model number so this is only a guess: If you refrigerator is a self defrosting one, it will periodically, allow ice building up in it to turn to water which naturally drips to the lowest point. Most refrigerators have a drain below the vegetable bins on the bottom. That is probably where the water is coming from. Solutions include putting a shallow baking pan under the bins or under the refrigerator to catch the water, then empty it periodically.

Water at bottome of refrigerator

Under the draws in the back, there should be a drain hole that drains water down to the drain pan under the unit. Check to make sure it's not blocked with food or frozen water.

Frigidaire refrigerator has water coming out underneath, there's no water under the refrigerator, the freezer was left open and was iced over. Now the freezer is not iced over and the water is gone.

You should have an evaporator tray under the refrigerator. A certain amount of condensate is to be expected during the cooling cycle and it drips into a collector tray under the refrigerator. Heat from the compressor causes this condensate (water) to evaporate. If the tray has come out of place, or is missing or damaged, the water will not collect in one spot to evaporate and will run out under the refrigerator. Also, if the automatic defrost cycle for the freezer is not set correctly or is malfunctioning, that may also cause an overabundance of condensate to be produced and it can overflow the condensate tray. If this has been helpful, please rate me accordingly. Thanks and good luck.

Sound of Water coming from internal backside of freeze

Your unit was in defrost mode (happens once a day) and ice that built up over the previous 24 hours was melting and draining down a drain line to a pan under the unit so it will evaporate. This is how freezers stay " Frost free ". The water in the pan under the unit will evaporate by itself. Have a great day!
