I have an armstrong compak 10 gas and air. I can't get the blower to come on to blow the air through the vents. I replaced capacitor. The motor turns very freely by hand but just won't start.

Even if the motor is ok iit won't work unless the circuitry switches on the power to it.

Even if the circuitry is ok there are typically at least a couple of safety devices that have to be satisfied before things can get going.

I suggest the motor is tested by providing an independent current to it and then it might be a good idea to read the manual and study the circuit diagram - or cal in a repairer.

Yes you should try replacing the run capacitor.

SOURCE: air and heat not blowing air through vents

Either Your fan switch is burned out or you blower motor is no good, your blower motor is on the passenger side under the dash. Before you replace any parts you need to check your fuses and relays under your hood and in the car. Usually if your fan switch goes bad you will still get some air blowing thru the vents, so my guess would be blower motor, If its not a blown fuse or relay.

No air coming out of vents and blower motor workS with jumper wireD, 2010 xc 60

a Volvo (must we guess"?) 2010 xc 60???? no air jumper-ed too?
if yes controls bad.
but with all blend door motors dead, air will flow.
there is no blower blocking door/damper ( but Filter)?
no air flows? means what?
hot air?
cold air?
either?
or no ambient air flows. or all.above.?

most cars have at least 3 dampers
MODE (direction)
hot cold, manual control.
recir'/fresh.

case in point, if hot core and AC core are dead
and blower spins you still get ambient cab air flow or fresh.
cab filter clogged up.
I need more facts to know what tests to do.

Why does the furnace blow 5 amp fuses?

Its drawing much to high amperage on startup. It may be dirty, unmantained, blocked with something, or a bad run capacitor. Likely, at this stage, it needs replacing. If its belt drive, be sure you have the proper slack and the bearings, if needed, are oiled and not faulty.

A/c blower turns slow and makes puffing sound. bryant 80% avac system.little cold air from vents

Hello, replace the capacitor as when there are storms sometimes they can cause a voltage spike and damage the capacitor. The capcitor will be a round or oval metal looking can next to the motor. When the blower motor runs slow the coil can start to freeze due to lack of airflow and this is why little air is coming out of the vents. If the capacitor does solve the problem then the motor will have to be replaced.

My outside a/c unit runs but no air is blowing thru my vents. Is the blower motor or could it be a r

Hello, if no air is blowing thru the vents then it could be a bad blower motor, a bad run capacitor, or a bad control board. If the motor is getting voltage from the board and it will start by spinning the blower wheel by hand you capacitor is bad. If it does not the motor is shot, however if you do not get voltage from the board but there is voltage to the furnace then the board is bad.

Turned on a/c unit no air blowing from vents. unit is on out side runing

2 things could be the problem 1 The blower motor capacitor has one out. This is a small oval or round piece that the wiring to the blower motor is attached if this is out the blower motor will not work. 2nd. the blower motor itself has burnt out. Replace the capacitor and the motor together should you have to change out the motor. Good luck hope this helps
