It's basically the same thing, The tunnel opening narrows as we age and calcium builds up around the nerve pinching it and causing awful pain. Had both my wrists done 20 years ago.
I had to have surgery in my right hand for that very thing.The doctor said it was because of my profession.WOW,it is very painful.The surgery is a breeze.The physical therapy is a challenge,but I'm glad I did it.I wore a carpal tunnel brace for years until I could afford the surgery.You can buy the braces at any **** store(CVS,Walgreens,Walmart,etc.).They help,but,they are not a cure,and they are very restrictive.I'm a chef and I couldn't use the brace while working.If you have the financial ability(or good insurance)have the surgery.It gave me back my career.Good Luck!

numbness in the arms is typical carpal tunnel syndrome, i had it , had a neurologist do some tests and had both hands done at once, i suggest onyly 1 hand at a time, numbness is due to pressure on a nerve fot the legs numbness on the outside of the thigh is usually pressure on a nerve in the groin area usually due to weight or wearing a belt to tight over time.
