Display

this could be the LCB .But this year I have replaced quite a few consoles.Usually with this brand if the console buttons don't work it is a console, but if power isn't getting to the top it will be the lcb.
I repair this brand for the supplier in Australia.

Have a proformj8li, board lites up , incline will go up and down but the machine will not start. i dont know which of the 2 boards to replace

Replace the LCB, board under the hood of machine. The UCB (Upper control board relays the key information to the LCB.

When the LCB traditionally goes out it cannot reconize the machine is not responding properly. The LCB is what usually sends out the error codes to the display screen.

Thermostat ct87b

Your thermostat could be shutting off too soon. What you have to do is take the cover off of the thermostat and look at the bottom right side of the unit. There will be a Zinc plate with little dashs and numbers on it. on top of the plate is a copper triangle, that is what turns the heat off at a certain temp. The triangle is probably out of place and is cycling the heat off before it reaches your set temp. Just carefully adjust the triangle tward the lower left side of the triangle (alittle but at a time) and hopefully that will fix your problem.

GE XL44 Oven - On/Off heating of bottom burner.

Mag...not sure here. Is there a particular reason that you're suspecting a problem? Does the unit heat much slower than before? Does it bake properly? You may be looking for problems that aren't.

Thermostate temperature setting wrong

Are you saying that the temperature over-shoots it's setting by 5 degrees? If so and if the thermostat has an inticipator device in it you can adjust it. After removing the cover on the thermostat, look for a little brass triangle on the lower right hand side. There will be a scale with numbers on it and they are very hard to see. This device heats up prior to shutting off the thermostat so it will not over-shoot by more than a few degrees. Move the brass triangle either up or down and let the heater cycle a few times. If the temperature swing gets worse, go the other way next time.

If the thermostat is not heat inticipated, there will be a small "Dip" switch where you can adjust to a specific degree of under-shoot.

Visit the Honeywell website and you can pull up the installation/owners manual for your model. www.honeywell.com
