Question about Microsoft Video Game Consoles & Games

1 Answer

I've been looking around online and it seems you have to already have a 360 HDD before you can upgrade to another. I bought a 360 on ebay that doesn't come with a HDD. Does anyone know which non-microsoft HDD I can use or have any more info on how to go about doing this?

How to expand/upgrade the HDD memory on Toshiba NB200/205?

It is always possible to upgrade to a larger HDD as they are pretty much standard for all makes. If you replace your current hard drive then you will have to re-install your O/S and all your programmes on it. A better option would be a fast external HDD. You can get 1.5TB, 7200rpm for around £100. This is the best option if you are simply looking for more storage, This will not improve the overall performance of your machine but will allow you to store more stuff.

If i buy an external cooling fan will it cure on my E74 problem

If you are getting this error message, then the hardware has already failed and will need to be repaired. Look online for alot of do it yourself articles. They are not that hard to fix and the parts have gotten fairly reasonable via eBay. Just patience and courage...you can't break anything because it's already broken.

Also, check around your area and call some computer repair places. They fix this for a reasonable price.

Replacing the part is very easy and yoou can find the lasers on ebay for around £15. Strip the 360 down, take out the laser from the drive and look underneath it, there is a part number underneath which will be something like: hd63. simply search ebay for that part or you can send it to us for repair If you get stuck and need help we offer a full repair service www.fixmyconsole.co.uk

Microsoft makes it virtually impossible to fix one of their hard drives and you probably won't find anybody out in the tech world who would touch it with a 10 foot pole. You can purchase a used unit for around $50 on eBay and if the drive your replacing isn't bricked, purchase a cheap 360 file transfer kit and migrate your old files to the new drive. Don't worry about any of your Achievements being lost, those are stored on Microsoft servers

I assume you mean you can't play games online?

Is your account Gold or Silver? (Go the the Marketplace blade, then down to account information, membership.)

You can only game online with a Gold subscription, which is like $50/year.
