Practically half the keys on my Acer AspireOne are not working! The keys press fine but do not show up on the screen. Keys are: 4,5, 8, 9, 0, -, e, r, y, u, i, o, d, f, j, k, l, x, b, n, m, and (,). Microsoft XP and Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard.

On most Acer laptops, you can adjust the screen brightness this way:
Press and hold the blue 'fn' key. Look at the arrow keys. The left/right arrows should have a picture off the sun on them. Tap these keys while holding the fn key to adjust screen brightness. Please let me know if this does not work.
You can switch to anexternal monitor by two methods.1. Connect the externalmonitor to the laptop's video port, power up the external monitor first and thelaptop. The video information will automatically switch to the externalmonitor.2. If you power up thelaptop first then you can switch the video output to the external monitor bypressing the Fn key and one of the Function keys, depending upon your make andmodel laptop. You can also toggle between the external monitor or both LCDscreen plus the external monitor or back to LCD screen only by pressing the Fnkey plus one of the function key. Here is a list of keycombinations for some of the laptops :-IBM ThinkPad = Fn + F7HP and Compaq = Fn + F4Toshiba = Fn + F5Dell = Fn + F8
Hello, is it the 2 as well as the @ key which dos'nt work??? Have you tried to clean it. maybe it just needs to be changed, even i had a problem (it never used to get pressed properly) I got mine changes last week from www.laptopkey.com
Now it works like new :)
You could try them out too, they sell individual keys with all the underneth parts.
If you have warranty they can fix it for you, but if not, you can take the laptop apart, and clean the contacts of the keyboard youself. Which would be the same thing they would do ("they" the warranty people). But is not sure, you can take it to a repair shop for inspection.
is the acer still covered by the warranty? you can get it repaired for free if it is, its a common fault with these, my friend over here in finland has one of those and it did the same thing, he got it replaced / fixed for free since it was under warranty. get yours fixed also.
check your mouse settings in control panel
and make sure they are correct
maybe they are set to sensitive
otherwise i would recommend setting back to factory settings
make sure ac power is plugged in when doing this.
I have the same pc and i have no problem like that.
let me know if this solved
if the problem persists after setting to factory settings i would return it for exchange.
