If you downloaded the right driver for it ..it has to work ...be sure that you have the driver for vista operating system ...and be sure that is for the kind of vista you run ...(meaning on 32 or 64 depends on which one you use)
as I already took a look they are available on the manufacturer site ..(okidata)

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I have windows vista and I finally downloaded the driver C5200ne now I tried to print a test page and I get an ERROR message in control panel/printer. What is wrong? It just seems like it's a software...

If you are sure that you have the right printer ..go to device manager (right click on my computer ..properties..../hardware ..device manager ) and look for the printer ...and if it is in yellow with an ask sign on it ..,click right on the device (printer ) and choose update driver ..and run the wizard and follow what it says at the final before ..finish ..
if it says the a problem was on ..and the device wasn't installed proper ...it means that you do not have the right driver and you need to download it again from the support site ..and run it into computer ..(but not before removing the old one completely and be sure that you got read of all traces of it ..)
http://my.okidata.com/pp-C5200n.nsf/openingdrivermenu?OpenFrameSet
follow the exact instructions on that page ...and be sure you selected the operation system correctly

HOWcan hook up compjuter printer oki b4400

just plug it into the computer printer port ..or on usb after case..and install the driver cd ...make sure the driver it is suitable for the operation system you are using in the computer cause for elder models the cd came only with xp drivers and if you have Vista you will have to look for the driver at the manufacturer's support site ..
after you install the driver and the printer is plugged and on ...just restart and go for it ..

select it from the mono page printer section..

  • Description: ecblank.gif ecblank.gif ecblank.gif

ecblank.gif The most current driver for this product is already included in the Windows XP Operating System. Currently there are no updated drivers available. Follow the instructions below to correctly install your printer.

    NOTES:
Select "Oki Data ML 320 Turbo/D (IBM)" from the XP CD.

The ML390/1 Turbo Printers are not on the current XP CD. Please use the IBM Proprinter or Epson LQ driver for these models.

The driver should automatically install once the printer is connected to the computer and powered on. If it does not automatically install, then do the following:

    1. Click Start, then Control Panel.
    2. Click Printers and Other Hardware or Printers and Faxes.
    3. Verify that the printer icon is not already installed
    4. Click Start, Turn Off Computer, then Turn Off to shut down the computer.
    5. Connect the data cable either USB or parallel. If it is not then continue to step 5.
    6. Turn on the printer.
    7. Turn on the computer.
    8. The printer will now be automatically detected

I have a new computer with Windows 7. Also have

I have just come off the phone to canon and they advised me that they have and will not have for some time any drivers for any Canon product that is running with Windows 7, which i think sucks... a huge company such as Canon and they are wayyy behind on technoligy, i told them i have installed Windows 7 and they told me im better off going back to XP which i will do, i was also informed that they are expecting Microsoft to release the driver for my MP600 to run on Vista 64 bit. omg that is old now and who wants a 64 bit pc anyway lol more trouble than they are worth but i guess Canon will eventually have the drivers i need one day but they are very much on the back seat at the moment.

Im trying to install an old printer on a new vista comp w/o disks

Windows Vista" is your operating system.
I would start by uninstalling (undoing) any of the printer software that you have installed, and try again. It sounds like at this point that you may have bits and pieces of both 'XP' and 'Vista' drivers installed.
Your link is pointing to the right page at Dell, just select the "driver" under the windows Vista tab.
I'm not sure how that software will be packaged, But I assume that it is self installing once you download it. You just click on it to start the installation. Usually you will leave you USB cable to the printer unplugged until after the installation, and then you are prompted to plug it in.
I'm not sure if this will help, but it's difficult to know exactly what you have done to this point.
