Yow dude... when you turn on ypur WLAN button on top of your psp... u may have to reset your settings on the internet settings. or, if already set, do what shaun616 said earlier, if you are using wifi, you'd have to use ad hoc mode or the infrstracture. either way its just a setting to connect whether a router or wifi to your psp.

I reset my router and now the internet will not work.

You will need to connect to your router via a cable, then open your internet browser and type in the ip address of the router. You can find this by openeing a command prompt (programs->accesories) and type in ipconfig /all making sure there is a space between the g and the /, then press enter, you are looking for the internet gateway address, it may also be the same as the dns server address. (it will most likely look like 192.168.*.* obviously the stars need to be replaced by numbers relevent to your router, routers are all different so I cant supply those)

when you type this address into your internet browser window it should take you to your routers login page, username and password should have been supplied with the router. Once you have gained entry into the routers setup pages, you will need to put your login details for your internet account. (you should have recieved these from your internet provider when you initially setup the account. This should then allow you to connect to the internet

Failed internet connection, error message "attempt to obtain IP address timed out"

Click "Start" on your computer. Then select "Run." Windows Vista users can type in the word "run" to pull up the program. After you open the program, type "CMD." Type "IPCONFIG" on the command prompt and press "Enter." The screen will display your network settings. Write the number down next to the line "Default Gateway." Close the "Run" program and open a new Internet browser on your computer. Type the DNS number you wrote down into the address bar and hit "Enter." You'll be taken to a site for setting up your connection.

Click the menu selection on the right side of the screen that says "Wireless." Next click the option for registering a new station. Name the new station and you will be asked for the Mac address. Power on your PSP and select "Network Connection." The console will show the Mac address under the network settings. Enter this address into your computer browser.

Submit the information and your PSP will be a registered device. Now connect to the Internet with the handheld and you will not receive the error.

Every time i ues internet exploror a error comes up and it reads internet exploror cannot display this page . help we have trided to reinstal it . use a new browser but we cant as the error comes up

It sounds like your pc cannot find your internet gateway or your router cant, check all cables starting at telephone socket.

Then goto START - CONTROL PANEL - NETWORK CONNECTIONS - Right Click and choose PROPERTIES then scroll down to INTERNET PROTOCOL - select that then choose PROPERTIES below. Then tick SELECT IP ADDRESS AUTOMATICALLY then DNS ADDRESS AUTOMATICALLY, this might work after a full shut down and reboot. NB if their are any settings on those last 2 pages write them down before changing them to automatic. If it does not work type in the old details before trying another solution.

Cannot detect network connection

Instead of running the CD, try to configure the router manually. First, make sure that you have verified internet connectivity between your PC and your modem. Once verified, connect your modem to the internet port of your router and then your PC to any of the ports (1, 2, 3, or 4) at the back of your router. Turn ON your modem, router and PC.

On your PC go to Start>Run> then type "cmd" and hit the Enter key.
On the black screen type ipconfig/all and hit the Enter key.
Check the IP address of your Local Area Connection.
If it is, then you are good to go.
Check the connectivity between your PC and the router. On the black screen type ping and hit the Enter key.
If you're getting replies, minimize the window and open a browser.
Type and hit the Enter key.
Once prompted with a username and password type admin (admin is the default password).
Once you're on the Web interface of the router, enter your internet connection type and then save the settings.
Once done, click on the Status tab and then check the internet IP address.
If there's an internet IP address, try to open a new window and see if you can access the internet.

Website for login for admin and stuff

you need to type the routers IP address into the browser. to find the address, be sure you are connected to the router (preferrably with a cable) then go to start then RUN then type CMD then hit ENTER

at the black window that pops up...type IPCONFIG then ENTER

the GATEWAY ip address is the router location. type that in the Internet Explorer address and it should prompt you for the login.

Make sure that the Router is ready and that it is detecting that the computer is connected. To verify this the Ready light on the router should be on solid and the light for the port that the computer is plugged into should also be on. If this is correct then all you should have to do is open up your Internet browser and type into the address line and push Enter. If it does not come up with the log in screen then it is not connecting properly with the router. Try a different port on the router or a different CAT5 cable going from the computer to the router and try again. If that still fails, try emptying the Temporary Internet files cache folder and try again. If it still fails hold down the reset button on the back of the router for about 5 seconds or until the lights go out and start blinking. Wait for it to stop blinking and go back to the ready state. Try again to connect. Check the TCP/IP settings for the network card on the computer you are using. It should be setup to "Obtain an IP address automatically", if it isn?t change it and restart the computer. Once it is restarted, try again. If that still does not work type into the browser address window.
