Your vxl is set on the wrong battery type. It got inadvertantly set to a lithium ion battery setting and it immediately reads your 8.4 volt battery as being dead! Look through your instruction manual about 4 pages in and it will show you how to set the battery setting back to a regular battery. I had the same problem and as soon as I reset the vxl motor controller back to standard battery, mine works great! Don't get discouraged, it is a great hobby and lots of fun for all. There are many upgrades you can also do by gearing down the motor for faster speed. Gear change packs are about 20.00 and can really boost your speed. I hope this helps. I am out of town but if you can't find the instructions, email me later this week and I'll see if I can find mine when I get home. Simple fix, just don't have my book on hand. krensdc@comcast.net

I recently changed rear drive shafts to aluminum on my stampede 4 x 4 vxl , and now the tires do not move at all when I throttle. I just hear the motor

As aluminium has not torque value but will simply twist or rip the splines off the end ,I would be checking for shaft damage first as the problem started after what you did.

Battery connections

? I'm at a lost on why you need 8 battery's for 96 volts? make it 9 and you have 108 in volts?
not my problem, You hook up positive from bat 1 to Neg on battery 2 pos on battery 2 to neg on battery 3, and keep going till you only have 1 positive and i negative and when those are used you will have 96 volts,. OR you could just use the inverter and 1 battery for 110 volts?

Ez set button

The set button has a tendency to get stuck, try blow pressurised air around the button that might help. Else you have to disassemble the esc to get the dirt out, but you probably won't do that to a brand new esc.

WHAT WOULD MAKE MY BATTERY DIE ON MY YAMAHA R6

Hi Anonymous perform the following tests:
1. Fill acid type batteries to proper levels.
2. Charge battery overnight at 1-2 amps you need 12.5 volts or better after charging.
3. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
4. Hook up battery positive cable, then with your multimeter on the milliamp scale connect one lead to the negative battery post and the other lead to the ground cable. Meter should read 3 milliamps or less, 10 milliamps with a radio, 15 milliamps with radio and CB. If your multimeter reads higher you need to isolate the circuit by pulling fuses and circuit breakers one at a time and observe multimeter for a drop in amperage then get out your test light and track down the short in that circuit.
5. Hook up the multimeter to the battery set it to DC volts and start the engine if multimeter falls below 9.0 volts while cranking you need to perform a proper load test on the battery and replace if necessary.
6. With the engine running at 3600 RPM, the battery should read 14.3-14.7 volts if not continue tests.
7. Unplug the voltage regulator from the alternator at crankcase by the front of the primary cover.
8. To test voltage regulator go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8EjV0IjW9Q
9. With the multimeter set to the ohms scale, with one lead grounded, touch an alternator pin ohmmeter should read infinity, if not replace the stator.
10. With both leads touching alternator pins multimeter should read 0.1 to 0.2 ohms on 1989 and later models. 0.2 to 0.4 ohms 1988 and earlier models, if not replace the stator.
11. With the multimeter set on AC volts scale, both leads touching alternator pins multimeter should read 16 to 20 volts AC for every 1000 RPM'S 1989 and later and 19 to 26 volts AC for every 1000 RPMS. If not replace the rotor.

It sounds like the battery is defective, that causes it to lose it charge very quickly.

I have the Nerf Stampede ECS and I have brand new batteries in, the jam door is closed all the way, the clip is inserted and the on/off is switched to on. It is like the gun is getting no power.

1.) Check to see if the batteries are inserted right.
2.) If for some reason they aren't pressed up against the metal right, add metal between the batteries and the conductors to insure they are in full contact.
3.) Did you screw in the battery pack all the way? I'd check that.
4.) (The hard) look inside the gun (unscrew the plates) and find out if the circuit is 'complete'. One of the factors in the gun's circuit being complete (jam door, batteries, or clip) may not be working the proper way.

Good luck with your problem.

Also- are you sure they are brand new?

Try getting a full refund if you can, if all else fails.

Take a few pictures of the internals and email them to me at dluzzio@gmail.com. I'll try to see if I can come up with a probable answer.

Transmission making a clicking noise. one tire spins faster then the other one

There probably is a little stone or sandcorn that's stuck in the tooth on the gears. Try take of the cover to the gears and look closely.
If one wheel is spinning significantly faster than the other, look for stones or sand stuck in or around the bearings at the wheels.

When turning on, press and hold the button on the ESC until it flashes 1, 2, 3 times then let go of the button. You are now in novice mode.

Alternator not charging

Hi

If you have a volt meter, set it to volts and hold the negative probe to the alternator body and the positive to the battery positive. If you don't get battery voltage then the alternator isn't grounded and the probable cause is the main engine ground cable either breaking or coming loose.

Very best regards
