does it have batteries. , if yes check those.

I would recommend taking the deadbolt back to wherever you purchased it from and exchanging it for a new one. It sounds like you got a defective unit.

Indeed, the Facto lock is currently sold as Kwikset's "264 Contemporary Keypad Deadbolt".

Some manufacturers make their units compatible with both the 2-3/8 and 2-3/4 setbacks. Other manufacturers sell them as separate items. It may be that the one you have cannot be changed.

Log onto the manufacturers website and you should be able to find the user manual for download or on screen viewing.
You will need to know your specific lock in order to find the correct manual.

If it's like my deadbolt, pull the inside faceplate off. It's just pressed in place and the screws are behind it.

Problem fixed by having my wife look it up on the Schlage website. The deadbolt has a flash memory so your combinations and codes will not be lost when the batteries are changed.
