If you have the install disk you can change the password from the install screen. insert disk, turn off computer, start up holding the "c" key, this will get you to the instal screen, from the menu at top , depending on os version, select either utilitys or password reset.

You will need to take your computer to the closest Apple store. They will be able to unlock it there.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

My iphone has ben inadvertanly locked by passcode, the optus folk have said I have to delete everything through iTunes but I cant get action as I dont have an apple ID or password. plase assist? I don

Hi, there!

You can easily create your own Apple ID here: https://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/

But it seems that your particular iPhone is locked via the former owners Apple ID, which gives you no option other than contacting him and asking to delete this iPhone from his iCloud account.

Best regards,
B

How to unlock efi password

Take it to an Apple store; just tell them you forgot your firmware password; they should be able to reset.

(sorry, not really an answer; just don't want to see you wait for a hacker who might share his trick)

without an admin password, you'll either need a boot disk or knowledge of command line. An apple technician can help as well.

My apple laptop MacBook 13 has a message on the screen that is prompting me to enter a username and password. I have never set up a username and password so how do i bypass that page? or what can i enter...

Apparently someone gained access to your Macbook and enabled the password login feature of the operating system.
The login window that is displayed has a button for "Forgot Password". Click this button to see whether the person that set the password lock provided a cute hint for the password.

If they did not provide a hint, I would question anyone that has recently had the opportunity to access your Macbook to see whether they set the password lock. They would have the password.

I have macbook osx an im locked out , i have no info

By not being more specific, when you note that you are locked out of your Macbook, I would have to presume you are referring to your User Administrator account or you have a FileVault password which is prompted for, upon booting up and you have forgotten that password.

Not sure which could be the case, so I will 1st provide you steps for resetting your Administrator password with your Mac OS X installation disc and 2nd, provide you, a key Apple support link, for fixing the forgotten FileVault password (just in case this is the culprit, which is locking you out of your Macbook).

BOOT TO TIGER/LEOPARD DISK-
• Place your installation Disk (Tiger or Leopard I presume) into your drive and
allow it to load.
• Restart your Mac
• As soon as you hear the Apple Chime, press the "C" key on your keyboard
and hold it.
• You will see a White Screen, Grey Apple first, do not release the C key until you
see a Spinning gear.
• Once you see that Spinning gear, release your C key and allow the disc to
continue loading

- RESETTING ADMINISTRATOR PASSWORD-
(Works for both Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) and Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard))

• When the booting to the Mac OS X disc is completed, you will now be in the
Installer environment
• Enter to next page, look up on upper left corner you should see "Installer" near
the Apple menu.

• Two spaces over you should see Utilities. Click Utilities>Reset Password.
• Select your user name from the drop down list and reset your password.
• When you are done, simply exit the Reset Password and Installer and reboot.

• At the Login window, enter your new password and you should be back into your home User Administrator account.

From the Apple Support Forum for MacBook (yes, 3 generations later than yours.)
"With the original install discs that came with the MacBook, you can reset the administrator's password. Follow the instructions for "Resetting the original administrator account password" in this document: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1274"
