I have a Toshiba Satellite L305-S5921 notebook computer with Windows Vista Home Premium and am connected to Comcast high speed internet. After the anti-virus trial period ended (about 6 months), I wanted to download the free AVG, version 8.5 anti-virus software, and the PC would not allow the downloading of the software. The message was that I had a Trojan virus, and they only allowed the downloading of the expensive software they promoted.
There was a suggestion that did not work. I went to the website
http://www.housecall.trendmicro.com/uk/, and clicked on a link to allow a free scan. There I clicked on another link which stated “click here for a free scan.” When I got there I tried to download the free scan, and my PC would not allow me to download the software. Instead, I got an error message, which was a window stating; “

get security software.
If I click on #1, the software throws me back to a previous website, and I keep getting the above message, and can not download the free scan. If I click on the #2, I am able to pay for the PC anti-virus software, for about $60 for one year.'' How can I solve this problem without paying for the “Personal anti-virus software?
