There is over 18 inches of ice that forms in the winter months. The lake is medium sized and we are on a generally calm bay.

you should check to see if the fan at the back of the unit is operating, and you also need to check for dust build up, if the fan is working then clean and defrost the unit, try it again, make sure there is nothing blocking the airflow, if the motor is not running, replace the motor, hope that helps
SOURCE: Parts for Little Tikes Cottage
WIth little tikes items, you may not need the hardware to hold it all together. It all pretty much snaps together. If you do want to use hardware and secure it from wind/etc, you can use any type of common machine screw that you can screw into the plastic. Let me know if you have any problems.

SOURCE: Winterize my Kenmore Elite Front Loading Washer
To winterize, follow these steps:
1. Unplug the washer.
2. Turn off the water supply.
3. Drain any residual water from the wash tub and drain lines. This can be accomplished in two different ways:
a. Method 1 - Open the lower kick panel directly below the door by removing the scews under the lower front edge. (HINT: Propping up the two front feet of the washer can help provide better access - a 2x4 works well for this). Remove the access cover on the drain pump and allow the water to drain out. You will need some towels to clean up the water. About a gallon or so will leak out.
Method 2 - Remove the drain hose from the standpipe at the wall and take a wet/dry shop vac and pull a vacuum on the line. This will pull and remaining water from the wash tub and drain lines, avoiding a messy clean up.
NOTE: Whatever method you try, its still a good idea to remove the access cover on the drain pump and check for any foreign objects that may be caught in the trap that can sour over long periods of inactivity.
4. Make sure the placement of the drain hose in the standpipe provides an air gap to prevent any possiblity of drain water from getting siphoned back into the washer. Only place the drain hose into the standpipe about 6 inches and leave an air gap at the top.
5. Check the door bellow (rubber seal) to ensure there are no foriegn objects lodged inside the rubber folds that can mildew or rot. Clean if necessary.
6. Leave the door open when not in use, so that the tub can air out. This will prevent mold and mildew from developing and keep the tub from smelling sour.
NOTE: It may be a good idea to run a clean cylce with nothing in the tub to sanitize before shutting the washer down for the season. Use the hottest setting you have and use a small amount of bleach.
If you have any questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.
