For the past few days I have no internet service available. Thus I have no wi-fi. Have reported it but got nowhere.

you will have to enable the wifi option on your phone and then connect to a wifi hot spot or access point.your device does have built in wifi..please look for a swtich or something that needs to be used to enable wifi..usually you will see them on the system--connections as wilan or wifi..hope it helps!

If you are talking about your smart phone, then it is probably set to use WI-FI for calling and your WI-FI router powered off during the power failure. Find your router and turn it on or unplug it from the wall and plug it back in. Within a few minutes you should be working again. Otherwise, you will have to call your ISP (Internet Service Provider) for help.

Unless the area you are residing has a free wi-fi you can avail the internet facility without paying for the service. However in most wifi centers you need to get a password to log on to the router except in restricted campus. so check this out .

You have to ocnnect your iphone to internet first , Follow below step to connect to internet

When you use any Internet enabled application, iPhone does the following in order until connected:
  1. Connects over the last Wi-Fi network you used that's available.
  2. If no Wi-Fi networks you've used are available, shows a list of Wi-Fi networks in range. Tap a network and, if necessary, enter the password to join. Networks that require a password show ht1695_1.jpg next to them.
  3. If no Wi-Fi networks are available or you choose not to join any, iPhone connects over the cellular data network.
Note: You can be on a call and use Wi-Fi or 3G1 at the same time. Other cellular data networks are unavailable while you're on a call.
Wi-Fi
  • Wi-Fi is often faster than cellular data networks. Wi-Fi networks cover limited areas. iPhone can join AirPort and other Wi-Fi networks at home, at work, or at Wi-Fi hot spots around the world.
    When iPhone is connected to a Wi-Fi network, the Wi-Fi icon ht1695_2b.jpg in the status bar at the top of the screen shows connection strength. The more bars you see, the stronger the connection.
  • To see all the Wi-Fi networks in range, from the Home screen choose Settings > Wi-Fi. Tap a network to join it.

    If you're outside your carrier's network, you may be able to use a cellular data network from another carrier. Roaming charges may apply.
    Note: If not on 3G, while iPhone is actively transferring data over the cellular data network-downloading a webpage, for example-you may not be able to receive calls. Incoming calls may go to voicemail.

Wi-Fi stands for wireless fidelity. The term Wi-Fi, which is alternatively pushed by the Wi-Fi Alliance, a trade group that pioneered commercialization of the technology. Wi-Fi is mostly about connecting to the Internet without physically attaching your computer to anything. Mostly it's about using laptop computers.


A Wi-Fi enabled device such as a personal computer, video game console, mobile phone, MP3 player or personal digital assistant can connect to the Internet when within range of a wireless network connected to the Internet. The coverage of one or more (interconnected) access points — called a hotspot — can comprise an area as small as a few rooms or as large as many square miles. Coverage in the larger area may depend on a group of access points with overlapping coverage. Wi-Fi technology has been used in wireless mesh networks, for example, in London.

In addition to private use in homes and offices, Wi-Fi can provide public access at Wi-Fi hotspots provided either free-of-charge or to subscribers to various commercial services. How to resolve a blinking amber status light alert
Launch AirPort Utility to determine why your Wi-Fi base station status light is blinking amber.
Apple recommends that you use AirPort Utility 5.5.2 for Mac, AirPort Utility 5.5.2 for Windows, or a newer version of AirPort Utility if one is available.
  1. AirPort Utility 5.2 or later opens automatically if your Wi-Fi base station requires your attention. You may also choose to launch AirPort Utility at any time.
    Do not use any version of AirPort Utility earlier than 5.0.
    In Mac OS X, AirPort Utility is located in the Applications > Utilities folder.
    In Microsoft Windows, AirPort Utility can be located by clicking Start > All Programs > AirPort.
    Note: You may also locate and download the latest Wi-Fi base station firmware and software by clicking here.
  2. In the AirPort Utility window, locate your Wi-Fi base station and double-click on it to open the Summary window. Note: If you have more than one Wi-Fi base station, double-click on the icon for the Wi-Fi base station that has the amber circle next to it.
  3. When the Summary window appears, double-click the amber circle to the right of Wi-Fi base station Status to open the Status window.
  4. The Status window lists any conditions that require your attention. Respond to each item until there are no more items listed.
    Important
    : You must reset the Wi-Fi base station using the reset switch to re-enable checking for the conditions you ignored.


  5. Eliminating the blinking, amber status light may require making changes to a specific setting, or putting a checkmark in the "Ignore" checkbox beside any option you don't wish to change. A checkmark simply tells the AirPort that you are aware of the issue and you have chosen to ignore it. For example, you may wish to leave your AirPort open without a password so that anyone can join your wireless network.
  6. Click Update to apply your changes (the Wi-Fi base station will restart).
  7. After the Wi-Fi base station has restarted, the status light should be green and not blinking. If the status light stays amber in color and blinks after the Wi-Fi base station restarts, you may repeat the steps above.

Wifi interference??

The short answer is that it could interfere with the wi-fi, but your wi-fi should not interfere with your phone because it uses WDECT, "wide-band digitally enhanced cordless telecommunications" engineering. No matter how tight the bandwidth is on any RF transmission, power, proximity, and harmonics all play a roll. Ideally we want the power from our transmission to occupy the target frequency but the reality in RF is that this is nearly impossible without DSP filters. I have pasted some extra info below to help answer this question.

Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications
(DECT), known as Digital European Cordless Telephone[1] until 1995, is an ETSI standard for digital portable phones (cordless home telephones), commonly used for domestic or corporate purposes. It is recognised by the ITU as fulfilling the IMT-2000 requirements and thus qualifies as a 3G system.


The four most common frequencies today are 900MHz, 2.4GHz, 5.8GHz and DECT 6.0:

900 MHz Currentlythe most common frequency for cordless phones, 900MHz phones may offera greater range than other frequencies. However, the 900MHz spectrum iscluttered and may result in interference with baby monitors and other900MHz cordless phones. Radio scanners can also easily pick up thisband. 2.4 GHz 2.4GHzphones offer better clarity and security than 900MHz, but mayexperience some interference with microwave ovens and wirelessnetworking (wi-fi) products. 5.8 GHz Themost advanced cordless phones available, 5.8GHz phones transmit on anew, open frequency and have the least chance for interference. Theywill not interfere with wireless networking (wi-fi) products. DECT 6.0 DECT6.0 operates on the 1.9GHz frequency. Though newly approved in the US,this frequency has been used for many years in Europe and can increasecall clarity and security. The wi-fi friendly DECT technology easilyintegrates into homes with wi-fi and internet services because the1.9GHz frequency is exclusive to DECT, making it interference free forcordless communications.

Wi-Fi service available but LG Incite can't connect to it

A wifi connection reverting to available could mean a wrong password enter or a wrong encryption type.
If the available wifi networks are being use as hotspot, then you probably needs to register in order to use the wifi network.
If it's a private network, check if the network is at band 5 or 2.4. Just some tips for you to check out.

Can't get on internet

iphone uses wi-fi for first preference to connect to internet then drops to 3G if wi-fi not available then finally E (Edge) if you do not have either of those showing on your phone then it may be you are in an area where not even edge is available... try checking in different locations inside/outside your home.. down the street a ways or even a different part of your town. If you still cannot get at least the E on your phone maybe your service provider does not provide sufficient coverage for your location.. this does happen
