Question about Cell Phones

1 Answer

Stay with me on this one. My iphone stopped working. I need a good phone, so I switched phones with my wife and put my SIM card into her iphone. I still have all of her contact info and email on this phone. I thought that plugging it into itunes would get all of my information on this phone, but it still recognizes this phone as hers. I need all of my contact info and email on this phone right away. How do I do it?

You mean you want your info, contacts etc from your phone to your wife's which you are using now. If yes then merely changing SIMs will not help. You have to change all the other settings too. Like email settings. May be due to her email settings you are getting her itunes account and not yours.

No The sim card for the older models is not the same size as the new iPhone 5. You can take your old sim card to your provider and they can make you a sim card to fit your new phone.

I just bought an apple iphone off of ebay, how do i get it to work for my phone number?

You just need to put your SIM card in.

First turn off the iphone.
Next look at the top of the phone where the button is.
You will see a little hole.
Stick a paperclip in the hole.
This will pop out the sim card tray.

Now insert your card and you are good to go :)

CANT IMPORT SIM CONTACTS AFTER IPHONE 3.0 SOFTWARE UPDATE

The problem is, for whatever reason, the new iPhone firmware does not allow special characters to be imported onto the new phone.

So the only solution is to:
Get a different phone.
Put your SIM card into that phone.
Access your phone book from said phone.
Delete any contact using characters other that A-Z. This includes !@#$%^&*() And the like.

Once deleted just pop your SIM card back into your iPhone and import. It should now work.

I have a T-mobile sim and I need to unlock my Samsung SGH-D407.

WOW! what a process! I don't know how you kept track of all that but , good job! Try this. It's a maybe, but better than nothing,

TEMPORARY UNLOCK:
Put a non-accepted SIM Card and turn it on. Type *#9998*3323#. Press Exit. You will get a new menu. Select Malloc Fail.

In newer phones:
#*7337#

Apple iphone.where abouts do i put my sim card in the iphone?

Use the supplied tool or a straightened out paper clip to eject the sim tray in the top of the phone. There is a tiny round hole in the top of the phone that you gently push the tool(or paper clip) into to eject the sim tray. Load your sim card and slide it back in and you're done!

Good luck,

Cannot import contact from sim card to iphone 3G

Turn off the iPhone before inserting the sim, insert sim, turn on, import contacts. If you put the sim in the phone without restarting it for some reason it doesn't get all the contacts sometimes.

No SIM card installed

I too have had the "no sim card installed message. What has always worked for me is to go into settings and put the phone into airplane mode for about ten seconds and then switch back to regular mode which causes the phone to reconnect to the ATT network. The sim message goes away. This is also a good fix for when your phone isn't connecting to 3G or showing an "E" instead of 3G.

Error Message "no SIM card installed"

Hold down the power switch at the top and the main selection button at the bottom. After a few seconds a new screen should come up that allows for shutdown should you slide the slider to the right. DO NOT SLIDE THE POWER OFF. Keep holding the two buttons down. Wait until the silver apple logo comes on the screen. At this point you may release the two buttons. Continue to wait while the iPhone reboots. Once the iPhone finishes booting the "No Sim" message should be gone and you should see bars again. No new sim card or reactivation required!

Well, first off, an iPhone won't work at all with a T-Mobile SIM card. American iPhones are locked to AT&T's network -- only AT&T SIM cards will work in them.

As far as activating it with AT&T, make sure that the iPhone isn't connected to the computer while you install iTunes. Once iTunes is installed, connect the iPhone to the computer and iTunes should launch automatically and begin the activation wizard. Just follow the instructions on the screen and answer the questions.
