Question about Philips 27PT6441 27" TV
Probably some power supply trouble (could also be elsewhere).
- inflated or blown electrolytic capacitors - replace these
- bad solder connections on ANY of the components (resistors, coils, diodes, transistors, ICs, etc. - if anything has been heating up, the circuit board wil look somewhat darker around those components) - resolder bad connections
- burnt our resistors or any other component (this might require some measuring, perhaps a schematic if any components are damaged in such a way that makes it impossible to read the type or value of the component).
-also, if a capacitor is niether inflated nor blown up, it might still be dried up even if it looks good, but, in such a case, it will tend to heat up. Check this by turning the TV on, let it blink for a minute or so, turn the power off and quickly DISCONNECT FROM POWER OUTLET, then see if any of the capacitors has been heating up by touching its top with a finger (you obviously need to do this with the cover removed and need to BE VERY VERY CAREFUL, there may still be high voltage present, so don't touch anything on the picture tube neck, and it's not a bad idea to put latex gloves on your hands to insulate them when you touch the capacitors or anything else).
Hope you can find out what it is, and please, do take care, i don't want to be held responsible for people getting electrocuted as a result of my suggestions.
