Question about Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) Console
I was playing with my psp and someone split some water on it by accident it was not much. Now the problem is that I try to turn it on and only the orange light comes on. If I take the battery out and when I plug it to the outlet nothing happens not even the orange light. I put the battery back and ac adapter and only the orange light came on... i pretty sure that the person playing when the accident happened tryto turn back on. Can we fix this?
You have two possible problems here.
1. there are still water in the console
2. some component burned because of the water.
in the first case (if out of warranty time) open all the psp, clean it and let all components dry for 2 or 3 days somewhere nobody will touch it. and remount and test again.
in the second, you must take it to a technician to take a look and check the possibility to change ir.

The polarity of the charger you used is wrong or the wrong voltage, and has messed up the programming n the battery. You may be lucky if you get a new battery and use the Right charger, It might fix it. Sony put a battery in the PSP that has a memory chip in it, and I think it will automatically disconnect if the wrong vooltage hits it, or wrong polarity. be warned that I have seen where someone got a new battery and it did not solve the problem. If this happens to you Contact Sony at the following number.
