Hello,

If you have never used a password, just hit the enter key. If you get an error, someone has placed a password in your BIOS without your knowlege. With the system not booting, you may need to take the CMOS battery out of the motherboard for about 5 min, place it back on the board and restart your process. This should delete any and all passwords in your BIOS setting. Let us know if you run into further problems.

Try just hitting enter. If there is no repair admin password then it should carry on past that section by just hitting enter. I had the same issue when I first started working with xp. One day i just hit enter and bam it went.

Take your computer to a PC repair shop or buy an expensive Windows password recovery tool? Well, sometimes it costs you no penny to get back or reset your lost Windows password actually. Don't believe it? Just have a try of the following free Windows password recovery solutions if you forgot Windows password to your computer.
1. Windows Password Reset DiskIt is considered the easiest way to reset Windows password when you are forbiddened to access your laptop with protected password. Notebook only goes to f2 or f12 wont boot

If you can't get passed the F2, F12 then maybe the keys are disabled.. Windows does this sometimes. To release just hit "F".. if that doesn't do the trick then probably drive is corrupt..
You will need to restore using restore disc if you have one.

I forgot my password to login to windows XP Pro on my personal laptop. How can I bypass it?

First try is to hold down CTRL + ALT + DEL and try typing in as the user "Administrator" with no password, if this does not work do not worry, it only works on half the systems anyway. Of course the next try is rebooting into safe mode by pressing F8 during the boot but before the windows screen, when it loads up safe mode it actually gives you an administrator option as a login, usually works. The last and third way is to actually use the windows xp operating system disc and boot to it and run a windows repair, suggest talking to a technician if you do this one. Once you get into windows just go to control panel from the start menu and open up user accounts and then access the account that needs the password to be changed and change it.

The admin password is requested when you try to enter the Repair Console on the installation CD, so you did not run a Repair Install, correct?

The quickest solution would be to try a System Restore back to Tuesday of last week or earlier. You can find System Restore under Start Button->All Programs->Accessories->System Tools
