Question about Casio EXILIM Card EX-S770 Digital Camera
I bought a Casio Exilim EX-S770. I have had the camera for almost a year with no problems. I just got done taking a picture and docked it to add the picture to my computer.... the USB light will come on when it is docked but not the charge light. My camera won't turn on either.... at all. I unplugged the dock from the power source and the USB light is still on as long as the camera is on the dock. It was working fine and now nothing. I know the battery wasn't dead when I set it up to transfer the files. I am also getting a message that states: USB Device Not Recognized One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it. For assistance in solving this problem click this message.... and then the message says: Unknown device (now I have more than one USB port on my computer and have tried it in all 4 of them) It also says: try reconnecting the device. If windows still does not recognize it, replace the device. I don't understand, it seems like if it was my USB dock or even the USB cable, the camera would still turn on but I get nothing.
I had this problem and read everybody response. Not convinced that my battery was flat I got out a MULTIMETER (Voltage tester) and measured the life of my battery.
Measurements confirmed that it had 3.9V across +/- terminals and 3.75V from T(-ve) to +ve terminals.
Ok odd - so I put the battery back in the camera and gave it another got, making sure I correctly orientated the battery. Press the ON button and low and much to my surprise my camera was alive again! Damn what did I do?
Before this the camera would not power on, and in the cradle it would not charge. However whilst in the cradle pressing the PHOTO cradle button would make images display and would give me access to the Sideshow menu. But that was it.
Now its as good as new. The above could have been coincidence however given the number of people with this issue I thought it at least worthy to report my experience.

Lol, i had mine for a year also and had the same thing happen to me. My camera wouldn't charge or even turn on for that matter. I was stumbled. After a week of thinking about it I realised I had put the Battery in the wrong way. I dont even remember taking my battery out ever, but I have a Sandisk SD Card Plus w/ USB and when I took it I I think I accidentally popped the battery out too. Then I must have put it back in the wrong way. Make sure the (+) and (-) is on the correct sides. Hope this helps. If not, sorry
