SOURCE: GE Washer overflows

washing machines of any make or shape have a level sensor, this normally consists of a thin pipe from the lower end of the machine (where there is water) normally enters the bottom of the outer drum casing, this thin rubber or thin plastic pipe goes up to the top of the machine just inside the casing, it leads into a "pressure switch" a circular disc object about 50 cms in diameter on average, also this has about 4 to 6 wires on it, this thin pipe becomes blocked not allowing air to be forced up the tube into the switch, not switching the machine water flow off when it gets to the correct level empty the machine, drain off the water, unplug the power supply, and clear out this pipe, normally its congealed old soap powder, place pipe back as it was, checking for any leak holes in it, if damaged, replace it with new, run machine again to test long winded but i hope i have explained it thoroughly

SOURCE: GE washer won't fill with cold water

Cold water pipe had become frozen. FYI this model of washer has a nice feature whereas you can test each component i.e. valves, by setting the timer and reading the LED's on the front panel. Instructions are in the schematic.

SOURCE: GE WSSH300G0WW front load washer

Had same problem with GE wssh300 front load washer. Removed two screws from front bottom panel (under washer front). Pulled off panel, loosened screw from a seal ring on the rubber flex hose going to a 4" square plastic housing. Reached down inside and found a ton of lint (probaby a 2" balls worth) jamming outlet. Removed lint an works geat. Very easy to do by tilting front of washer up and putting supports under front to keep elevated. Be careful to make sure supports are sturdy washer can't dop when servicing.

SOURCE: GE washer model WHDSR209

On some models, the drive motor is universal meaning the drive turns clockwise in wash mode and turns counter clockwise in spin mode.
Possibly the motor windings is defective for the wash mode and thus the entire drive motor will require replacing.
Hope this helps..

Washer won't cycle past fill, keeps returning to fill cycle

That could be excess detergent causing the control to do extra washes to get rid of detected Suds. On these washers it is critical to use HE detergent and the right amount. Most often directions on detergent boxes are useless. This washer has a 3 phase motor with an inverter to change the current from 120 to 200 volts dc. If you continue to use wrong amounts of detergent the inline fuse will eventually blow from the motor overheating trying to correct overdose of detergent. Read more about it in the GE HYDROWAVE SERVICE MANUAL
