Can't find remote control code for Olevia TV to use with universal remote
I've had an Olevia 542 B11 TV since 12/06. We were informed that since it is a new company, not every product they have has been assigned a code for programing to a universal remote. That was 11 months ago and I still haven't been able to find a code on, or off, Olevia's site.
We have cable and the remote is a UR5U-MDVR that uses a 3 digit code. Have tried the '506' and '127' that were suggested for other units but, no success.
Should I resolve myself to using multiple remotes?
Thanks

Premtech - Thanks for the assist. I did try it for about 15 minutes, but I'm not sure if I gave it enough time. The instructions tell you to repeat the cycle of 'Power' and 'Channel' buttons, but they don't tell you how long to continue before your moving over the same territory again.
I'm not sure if I only covered 1/4 of the options or if I've hit the same areas four times!
NO codes work for the Olevia Syntax models, and NO they did not update anything to down load like they promised.NONE- Period. Do not waste your time. I wasted 8 months. You may either get used to a few remotes, or you can go to a website (x10 products) and pick up their learning remote. I paid 50.00. Line up the old and new, and the x10 product will learn to operate your cable box, TV, DVR, DVD and everything else. ( Took about 30 minutes plus my teenager) Now I have one remote control for everything, plus it looks great with the digital screen and channel icons, as well as readable buttons so you do not have to be a teenager or put on your glasses to operate it.

Have you tried the code searching feature on the remote? I'll look through some service manuals I have, paper versions, for Olevia codes but it may take me a week or more.. Until then try the remote control search feature in the instruction panel that came with your remote and let me know..

There are some 900 code combinations and the best way to find whether or not you've covered them is to try and keep some count - even if not accurate... I've done that in a few cases where it's taken 20 minutes before something worked.
Good Luck!
I'll still try and check for the manual..
Meanwhile try this site, it might help. http://www.remotecodelist.com/remotes/
