The water level sensor may be faulty. This sensor senses the water level and sends a signal to the the circuit which then shuts valve.

Ice machine shuts down when bin gets half full wwhat should i do

There is an adjustment on the front of the ice maker for the amount of water that goes into the ice tray. It controls the number of seconds that the solenoid stays open and allows water to flow into tray.

Ice maker over flows

Not sure on this brand, but on some ice makers, there is an adjustment for the length of time the water the water runs down the chute. See if the ice maker instruction sheet is in the back of the unit - it may show where and how to adjust the time. Another idea would be to partially close the water valve that goes to the ice maker unit, so less water gets into the ice maker. However, over time, this will mean the valve will leak through when the valve is turned off. Good Luck

Icemaker not working

Its probably the water tray not filling. On the back of the freezer, there should be a hose that goes into the ice maker - remove the screw that holds the tubing in place, and gently pull out the hose. Let it sit for about an hour - chances are, you stopped using a lot of ice, and the water in the fill line to the ice maker froze. Once that's thawed, water should be able to flow again.

While you're behind the refrigerator, there may be an envelope with instructions for the ice maker - specifically, how to start the cycle. After the water line has thawed, you will want to start a cycle and verify the water is flowing. You should be able to hear it flowing.

The ice that our Roper ice maker makes tastes funny! We cannot figure it out why?. We guess may be it is the filter that has gone bad, but we cannot find the location of the filter or may be it does not...

From the diagram
You can see their is no filter between the water valve and the fill tube.
You can add a external water filter in the water supply line if you want. Have you got any baking soda? Put a box in the freezer and see if that works.

Have model gs5svaxva00, (whirlpool frig) ice maker stopped making ice over the weekend but water dispenser still works?

The problem is one of two places,
the ice maker is the reason or the dual water control valve=> 4389177
Try pouring tap water inside the ice maker if cubes are not there. Let freeze
and if ice drops into the ice bucket then the water control valve on the side
that feeds ice maker is bad.
GS5SVAXVA00 Parts
List
Look up in the scrollbar and go to page 17 and you will see the water
control valve listed an item 5 and item 15 is the ice maker thermostat. That or
the ice maker module are most times at fault if the water control valve for ice
maker side had 120vac connected to it water would possibly flow. I have found
that sometime if the ice maker is bad just to replace would be the best route,
Tell me how the water test goes and if someone has a multi meter or ohm meter I
will answer how to test those components, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Ice maker goes through the process but no ice is produced water

If you're not getting water to the ice makerTry swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.
The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.

A strainer before the inlet valve can also get stopped up restricting flow. ice maker
