Your hedge trimmer is not getting enough gas through the carbeurator to run with the air cleaner in position. Do these two things:

Get a carbeurator cleaner called gumout at any auto parts store and add it to the fuel, one ounce per gallon of fuel. Also replace the air filter as they often look alright but are actually clogged with tiny particles of dirt.

Why has the vacuum cleaner lost power?

If by power loss you mean loss of suction power then I would check and either clean or replace ALL of the filters. Check and clean the rotating brushes and make sure all of the tubes are clear. Almost all suction loss is down to some form of blockage to the air passing through the cleaner and unless the air can pass freely through and exhaust properly, it will not pick up efficiently.

Loss of power while driving. Thought it was a vapor lock. Had this once before and the car later started. This time engine turns over but will not stay running.

Thanks for using FixYa.

The possible cause of loss of power is:

1. Low fuel pressure (Need to check the fuel filter and fuel pump. Fuel pressure needs to be above 45psi)

2. Dirty air filter (try replacing the air filter if its dirty)

3. Clogged fuel lines (use fuel line cleaner additive)

4. Bad ignition timing (use a timing gun to make sure your engine timing is correct)

These are the most common causes of loss of power for any combustion type engine.

I hope this helps you isolate the issue. Thanks and good day.

Loss of power uphill - 24 hp 54 " deck - Recent change of air cleaner and oil change. runs and starts fine, lacks powere and loads up going uphill even when not mowing!

Check the valve clearances--if they are tight, the added heat of climbing will close the clearance to the point that the valve(s) quit sealing causing loss of power. Check the spark plug(s)--should show a medium brown on the interior insulator(s). Make sure the muffler is not plugged. Check the engine ventilation--grass clippings and dirt can choke the air flow. Make sure the wheels turn freely.

Loss of power

U most likely sucked water into the air cleaner and in turn soaked the air filter, this will severely restrict the air flow into the engine, check and change the air filter for the engine

Power loss in 2004 Corolla Verso D-4D T2 at speed

You might want to check the MAF sensor(Mass Air Flow) and clean it with MAF/MAP cleaner. I am also kind of puzzled with this problem as I have a 2004 Corolla also, I only had power loss when my MAF went bad.
