Infocus 61 Inch .been following everyone's advice checking everything I can possibly check the color wheel appears to be moving fine a New bulb was purchased and was working fine for about 45 minutes in the picture got dimmer I can see the screen and what is playing on TV but just barely i have check the breakdown of possible problems everything checks okay with the exception of the picture being damn I looked at the bulb and it doesn't appear to be putting off much light also I noticed I did not hear a fan noise is it a possibility that the new bulbs fan has failed causing the bulb to overheat which in turn now causes a dim picture I did remove it several times and did not notice there was no fan noise I spun the fan a couple of times replaced the ballast and now I hear the fan but picture is still dim all answers and/or possible fixes are welcome thanks in advance.... also I've noticed that the fans get real hot and the wires get brittle which caused mind to stop working at one time I put a larger wire on my fan and a heat sleeve from an old curling iron when I replaced the wires on my old one and that brought my bulbs back to life but it's been four years time for a new one just a little FYI on what I found out about the fans hope this helps somebody also I forgot to mention the bulb has been verified And it is the right one although the company that sold it to me told me it couldn't possibly be the bulb

This is most likely the color wheel. When the bulb blows, it can damage the color wheel. The color wheel is a wheel composed of thin layers of colored glass that spins in front of the projected image. It is possible to repair it with super glue, but the best way is to try to find a new one to buy.
If your InFocus 4805 projector is having a hard time powering on or doesn't power on at all, it could be one of two things. Due to the extreme temperature of the lamp that causes the temperature of the projector to rise, every InFocus 4805 projector has a cooling system. Check your projector's cooling solution, as it may need to be replaced. Also check the projector's fan---if the fan doesn't spin, the unit will not turn on. If the problem is the fan, you'll have to get it replaced. You can do this at the same place you bought your projector.
If your InFocus 4805 Projector powers on but does not project any light, the lamp will need to be replaced. All projector lamps must be replaced at some point---how often usually depends on how much use the device gets. Simply order a replacement lamp, unscrew the old one and screw the new one in. The projector will then work like new.
If your InFocus 4805 projector powers on and is displaying images but the colors on the images appear warped or are not in the proper places, your "color wheel" will need to be replaced. The color wheel is a small device that essentially acts like a prism. Light is projected through it and it displays the appropriate colors on screen the way they appear in the original video source. Order a replacement color wheel that fits your model and use your instruction manual as a guide as you swap the old one out and put the new one in.
the berings on the colorwheel are failing. i suggest replacing it. also, the discoloration is baked-on dust. the wheel can be cleaned, but it's no recomended, due to the finish on the glass and the fact that the heat has probably weakened the glue holding the glass on the wheel. it's the same glue holding the light tunnel together, and it's collapse is probably causing the faint image. the parts aren't all that expensive, but you can only get them through an infocus authorized service center. check the website for one.
