Is the compressor working? if it is maybe the freon leak on one of its copper tubing. or have the unit cleaned first. if is cleaned have your unit system reprocesses.

Not staying cool

sounds like it is either low on Freon or the compressor is going out. The blowing ice cold is an indicator that it may be freezing up because the low Freon. when it stops blowing cold, turn it to fan only mode and see if it gets colder again. If that is the case then the unit is low on freon and freezing up. I know that sounds confusing but that is how AC works. The low freon pressure means the gas is expanding too fast and the air flow cannot take up the cold from the evaporator fast enough. Turning the compressor off and keeping the fan on will alow the room air to take up the cold.

I have to window units that are not blowing out cold air. the fan works. is there a way to put freon in them or do you have any suggestions?

Hello, first thing is check the condition of the filter on the front of the unit, if it is dirty wash it and let it dry then reinstall it. Also, it is a good idea to clean the evaporator coil with a can of coil cleaner that you can pick up at any heating and cooling store. Just spray cleaner on evaporator coil and let it dry. If this does not solve the problem tjen the unit might be undercharged and will need a hvac tech to recharge it. In order to add freon you must add a piercing valve to the low side of the system since most window units dont have service fittings

The start capacitor is in question and the fan appears to be overheating, That is where the water camre into it. You may need a HVAC tech to make your repairs. Good Luck _Ned_

The AC turns on but is not blowing cold air. The fan seems its on but no cold air. Please help.

Possibly the unit is frozen and low on freon. Turn the unit off and put the fan off of auto to on. It should defrost! After doing this, you will need to call a professional to check to unit and recharge it with freon. If it continues to happen, there may be a leak somewhere! Good luck!

A/C blowing hot air while driving

Could be a vacuum line is busted. When you apply brakes it provides pressure to the system for freon to move and blow cold. Without that forced pressure freons not moving. I had that problem with a ford f150 and finding the busted vacuum line fixed it. It may be different with a mitsubishi, ask a local mechanic

Shelly,
Most likely you are low on freon. Your air conditioner uses a coil that gets cold when the freon passes through it to produce your cooling. The temperature of the freon inside the coil is directly controlled by the pressure of the freon. When the system is low on freon, it causes the coil to become to cold and then instead of sweating it freezes. You will need an a/c technician to reslove the problem for you as the task requires tools and equipment that you most likely don't have.

Thank you,
Chillmaster
