No power on electric durabuilt 1400 pressure washer

I have tried plugging it in several locations but will not run. It acts as if it has no power. I have tried resetting the power switch but nothing seems to work.

Sounds like a pressure switch is sticking. usually causes this problem especially after being stood for a while not used.

have to remove cover to get to pressure switch, remove pressure switch piston clean regrease with silicon grease refit it m and all should be good.

Andy, are you talking about the smooth brass stud that comes out of the pump and pushes a lever that closes the (electrical) microswitch? My motor won't run and if I manually close the (electrical) microswitch it still won't turn on. The microswitch is getting 120v so I am thinking it is the microswitch. I can't see the backside (the motor side) of the microswitch so I can't test it.

Per Andy, mine (Karcher K 5.68) had the exact same issue.
Removed the cover, motor cover (to free the whole block from housing), and four large bolts (which holds the piston unit on), to free the pump unit and pressure switch.
Pressure switch had the chemical inlet at the top - removed this by removing the two pins holding it in place.
Removed valve from pressure switch - cleaned and regreased with silicon grease.
Used wire wool wrapped round some cloth over a screwdriver, and twisted round a few times in the pressure switch housing to clean the corrosion off. Regreased the housing, replaced the valve, tested.
Reassembled unit.
Viola, all good.

I had a similar problem on mine, noticed that the led on the GFCI plug was not lighting or resetting. I replaced the plug, and it took off fine. (Now I need to get another GFCI plug to put on.

Where is the pressure switch located on a simoniz 1600 electric power washer?

There is a pressure switch to cut the motor once target pressure is reached. I.e. when the nozzle is closed. It's a black cheap plastic thing, right in front of the pump body. It has a white plastic lever to trip the switch. It was sticking intermittently on mine. the simoniz 1600 is quite a cheap peace of ****, needs fiddling around every time I use it

Durabuilt pressure washer 1600psi. Water leaking

Sounds like a faulty seal around the gun. Repair might be few bucks if you take it in. But the price of the part is probably under a buck. Depends if you want to rip apart it yourself.
